I'M RIGHT HERE WITH YOU!
I am a LPN student. I attend a private run school.
You're correct, the CT board is very quiet most of the time.

I'm here :) I think a lot of ppl must forget to check the regional boards..
Thanks for replying guys. I don't understand why not many people are signing in. I worked in a CT hospital as a staff RN and I could be wrong but I found a lot of nurses to have attitudes. I don't want to judge but what is up with CT? I have traveled many states and didn't find this. I was raised in CT and I wouldn't change that for the world but we need to help each other as nurses and stop this nonsence of competition.
Good to know there are some friendly folks hope to see you on more often
I have only worked SNF. I did notice some nurses with serious 'tudes, but the vast majority of nurses I've worked with over the last 20+ years are more often than not, very nice, helful and friendly people. Quite a few took me under their wing when they knew I had an interest in going into nursing school and allowed me to observe treatments and help with any questions I might have had. Its the few bad apples in the barrell that you tend to remember. (I tend to remember the GOOD apples, the others I can't waste my energy on)
I don't think 'tudes are specific to CT nurses. As with anything, you have your good and your bad.
You are so right. I won't let them get to me thanks

I don't think people know about this site. I stumbled upon it trying to learn about the various LPN programs in Ct. Initially, I got responses. I have had a question re: the state LPN program. Nothing. I would like to find out more about it from someone who has been or is in the program.

Hi Everyone!!
I am currently taking my pre-req's to hopefully be accepted into St. Vincent's College. I am sending in my app. come June & I'm so excited!! I know that I'll need to wait ever so patiently until around Nov. 1st but luckily I'm a very patient person. This is a 2nd career for me for I've been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 13+ yrs. I really wanted to do more w/my life and was bored as an RDH. I know that this journey will be a challenge but I am so ready to make a change! I've conversed w/some really great people on this board & have networked w/some great students currently at St. Vincent's. I originally was only going to get my ADN but I've changed my mind & will go for my BSN hopefully either at Western, Fairfield, or Quinnipiac. Now my main goal is to keep up my high GPA that I've earned thus far and I know once I start w/the Nursing courses I really to buckle down even more. But where there is a will there's a way! I'd love to hear from anyone else at St. Vincent's. Also anyone who is a student at Western CT State, Fairfield, or Quinnipiac Univ. BSN program I'd like to hear from too. Wishing everyone recently accepted & current students all the best!!

Hello Everyone :welcome:
I was born and raised in CT, and have lived here my entire life. I am finishing the science prereqs at Gateway Community College and will be attending the Nursing ADN program there in September.
I have already earned a BA in Psychology (hence the name) from UConn and would like to go into psychiatric/chemical dependency nursing when I graduate. Somewhere down the road I would like to get the MSN degree and have a career as a Psychiatric NP.
