OK, we got in, but now what? I am a detail orientated person and I want info! When can I start picking up things I need? What are those items?
I have really lost it! I went from thinking about getting in to wondering what to do/what to read/what to buy before class starts.
And how big of a backpack do we REALLY need?
Anybody out there from CLC have any advice? Help me before my family moves out of the house permanently (wait...maybe that would be a good thing:devil:)!
I am starting school this semester and my uniform has the patch on the left breast area as Colleen mentioned. I also second what she said about nude colored undies. I got my pants and man, does it look tacky if you are wearing any other color underwear-including white. Best of luck to all starting tomorrow!

I like to wear black polka-dotted, he he. J/K! I wish you all well this semester!!
Thanks everyone... especially about the tip on using nude underwear!
So, I'm getting all of my stuff together for tomorrow... Should I bring everything or just the Potter/Perry hardcover and lab book (my lab is tomorrow too!). My list of stuff to bring is:
AA & A1 module (with class guide 1 & 2)
The Potter/Perry textbook and lab guide
My student handbook
Paper, pens, pencils etc...
I hope that is all I'll need. I haven't gotten a chance to buy my rolling backpack yet.
Thanks again for all of your help!

You'll be fine with what you have. I don't remember for sure, but I think you'll pretty much need all of those things. You may not be starting on the modules yet, but they're good for reference purposes. Same with Potter/Perry. DEFINITELY get a rolling backpack! I love mine. Have a great first day!:wink2:
Sounds like you're all set Lisa! You'll see that some people never bring their textbooks to class, but I always brought at least the P&P book. Also, any time I had lab I brought Elkin along. Often times you will go over skills from that book, and it's helpful to have it handy for reference.
Good luck, and have a great first day!!!!
Lisa, have you worked on the modules yet? I started AA (the math/meds one)...I had a pretty easy time with that one...but A1...it's like there is SOOOO much to read, then I wasn't sure about if I should attempt the class guides? I'll do the one that it says we should do prior to class (can't remember off the top of my head?), but I don't know if I'll be able to answer the rest. I already feel overwhelmed. I have a feeling I'll be up pretty late as I just got my daughter to bed now (I loved when she used to go to bed earlier :)
Be sure to at least read through the class guides prior to class, and answer those questions that you can. You will probably not be able to get through all the readings - they can be totally overwhelming! My best advice is to skim through the readings at least, so you have a general idea of what they are talking about and you can always read more in detail later.
Thanks! I have skimmed most everything and gotten an idea....one more question though, if you don't mind! There are two questions we're supposed to answer prior to class that we will turn in for module credit. Do they generally like these types of things handwritten or typed? Janet, I think, mentioned they liked typed, but I wasn't sure if she meant for everything.
I typed everything! I am a MUCH faster typist than handwriter. I do know of some people who, due to problems with computers or whatever, had to turn in handwritten stuff. I think that you can do either.
P.S. The reason Janet wants things typed is probably because she's afraid she'll get homework from someone whose handwriting is as bad as her own! LOL - her handwriting is as tough to read as some doctor's I've seen!!!

Dawn,
I attempted AA and did the practice questions and read A1. I didn't "formally" do any answers to anything, I basically just read the material. From what I recall, they wanted us to begin/complete AA and prepare A1 along with A1's class guide 1 and 2...
I also know what you mean about being overwhelmed. I'm hoping that tomorrow will put me at ease somewhat!!!
See you tomorrow, and thanks again to everyone!
Good luck to all!
Lisa

Left chest area is where my original is, and also the same place for the 2nd smock I just bought the other day (since in 3rd semester we have 2 days in a row of clinicals).
They are hideous it's true. Diedra always called it the "lunch lady" look. Too funny!
Something to remember - make sure you get nude colored underwear... Those white scrub pants are kinda see-through!!!
