WCCCD Spring 2013 Hopeful!!

Is there anyone else on here who is waiting for a response from WCCCD's nursing department? I applied June 30, and am going slightly crazy waiting for my acceptance/denial e-mail! Let's get to know each other, hopefully we'll be classmates!

Does anyone plan on working full time while taking classes?

I hate to be negative, but I'm going to be truthful. You can't work full time. The girls who work part time at my job save up all their vacation time, call in sick and are under enormous stress. Full time will be hard.

I don't intent to work at all until I get my foot in the door. I may pick up a part-time job eventually. I currently work full-time and I don't see anyway I can continue.

Once this current semester ends I'll have all of my co-reqs completed and I'll only have to focus on nursing classes starting in Jan. that makes the load seem so much lighter so I'm hoping that I'll be able to pick up a midnight job to leave my days free for classes. I've always worked full time and attended classes part time so I'm used to working and goingto school, I know that this program may be a little more challenging tho. But, we'll see how it goes. I'm so excited!! I'm ready for orientation! I'm anxious to see what my schedule will be.

It's kinda difficult to go from having full time income to no income

Being one of only 8 of 20 that made it to clinicals know that working a full-time job is IMPOSSIBLE. We had one lady that did that and dropped within a few weeks. Midnights will pretty much be impossible also. Please don't set yourselves up for failure!

Just know this will be there hardest thing your gonna do but its gonna be worth it!

Yes the curriculum is difficult
