Washington Hospital Center July 2011

Published

Hi I am wondering if anyone has heard anything about Washington Hospital Center or any other DC hospitals that are having a Summer 2011 New Nurse Residency program? Thanks in Advance!

I think my interview went well. But, I haven't yet received an offer, so I guess mine didn't go QUITE as well as yours. :-)

Did they tell you which unit/floor you'll be working in? Also, did they say when you'd see something more specific in writing (like some sort of offer letter, starting salary, etc)?

I'm hoping I hear something one way or the other tomorrow, as I'm leaving on Sunday for 2 weeks vacation in Italy.

I got hired for 2D. I received my offer letter by email with starting salary and orientation details. I will sign the actual offer letter and fill out new hire paperwork the same day I come for my physical/drug screen which for me is the last week of June.

Don't be pessimistic about an offer just yet... we're still within the window of notification. I know it's hard waiting and wondering if you got a position because for the first week after the interview that's all I could do.

I think no news is probably good news :-) ! From what i've seen, ppl got a rejection email the next day after their interview....

keep your chin up!!

an121na, do you really know ppl who have been rejected already?

Best wishes on your interview Monday!

I saw ppl that had posted that in earlier threads about this residency..not the July Cohort but earlier ones!..

I have my interview tommorow as well.. kinda nervous of course. But Good luck to those waiting for a response and those who are up for tomorrow. :redbeathe

Best wishes for those who have their interviews tomorrow... keep us posted!!

I had an interview today! WHO THE HECK KNOWS how I did. We'll see I suppose. I was surprised at what department I got paired with, not something I had really expressed an interest in. I'm wondering if I don't get hired for the specific unit if my name goes back into the general hiring pool or if that was my only shot. Any ideas?

What unit did you request v. What unit did they interview you for?

And I have the same question as you, regarding re-interviewing if we don't get the unit we interviewed for. I could be wrong, but I don't remember anyone on this thread saying they interviewed for unit A, but were offered a job by unit B.

I started last year, but I interviewed with a different unit than I was offered, as did several other people that I know.

Interesting. Do you remember how long you waited after your interview before you got a job offer? It seems like some people received offers quickly this year, while the rest of us haven't heard yea or nay for weeks.

I interviewed on a Friday and I was offered the job on Mon or Tues- I can't remember, but I remember thinking that it was really quick. I'll ask around at work tonight and see what timeframe others had.

I had an interview yesterday and thought it went really well!! I was really glad that I'd been reading this thread because I felt really prepared. My nurse director asked two of the exact same questions that someone had posted on here, and it was nice not to be shocked by there being like 25 other interviewees there.

Anyways, I thought it went really well, and I hope I hear something soon!!
