Hi,

I am moving to Phoenix in Dec and I am visiting there next week to look for a house to rent. I am having problems with the Real estate people nobody emails me back to make arrangements to view propertys of even to discuss things with me. Has anybody got any recommendations for a reliable realtor. I have even tried phoning. I just cant understand it the company I would like to rent from I have emailed 10 times and phoned 2 and heard nothing.

Any advice please

Try looking on-line at the Arizona Republic, there are usually quite a few homes to select from, and many companies that would love your business. Definitely forget about that company, if they do not return calls or e-mails, they do not want your business. Also, as soon as you arrive, there are piles of little books all over, free, that list homes that are available in the area. You won't have any problems finding anything. Especially this time of year.

Thanks Suzanne I just loved the houses on desert.com web site. I will forget them now.

I am sure I've asked this before but what areas should I avoid or what zip codes??

I saw one in surprise advertised is it nice there?

Surprise is nice. It's had a lot of new building in the past couple of years. We live in the East Valley (Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert) and love it. We have access to the 101 which is a really easy way to get anywhere including downtown and the airport. I'd vote for the East Valley if you haven't already found a place.

Hi Boomerfriend

We visited Gilbert and Chandler last year as we are planning to live in the area when we eventually start work at Banner Desert. That's if I haven't reached retirement age before USCIS get their act together

Having a family of 3 children (one of which is school age (8 years of age), the others are 4 years and 5 weeks of age!)), do you have any thoughts/advice/experience on the best school district in the areas or indeed the best type of schooling? Have been on the AZ education site, but not gleaned a huge amount of info as there is so much to read!

Cheers

OG

Gilbert School System has a very good reputation and scores pretty high on standardized tests. Here is their website:

You may have done this, but if you know where you're going to work, then you should try to move into that general area. Depending on where you work and live, traffic can be monstrous. Of course, you may be one that wants to live where you want to and commute like the Anthemites, Ahwatukeeans, some Tempe-ers, and others. Come to think of it, this is probably part of the reason traffic is so bad.

Well found a house and yep am going to be commuter to Anthem, only working three nights a week so will spend good quality time using facilities with my daughter., and not being part of the early morning and late evening traffic problem lol.

Anthem is nice. Just need to work around the Friday daytime rush north to get out of town and the all day Sunday rush to return. The two lane I-17 just doen't seem to handle the flow very well.

I did wonder looking at the map whether you can bypass the I-17.

Anthem did not exist when I was living there..............
