Want to relocate to Missouri after graduation - looking for sign-on bonus programs

Published

I am seriously considering relocating to Missiouri after graduation in July. My desire is to work in a rural health, medically-underserved community. However, in my search for potential employment I've come up empty handed for any type of sign-on bonus or even relocation bonus programs in the Missouri area. Does anyone have information concerning how to find facilities that are offering these type of bonus'?

Hi, I'm from Missouri, Springfield St. Johns/Mercy Hospital has $3000 sign on bonus, don't know about any relocation money as I'm not that close to graduating. They're aren't really really rural, population 100,000 or so but surrounded by lots of rural....Hope this helps!

I am not sure about how rural you are looking for, but I work in an area called lake St. Louis, MO. It is about 40 miles west of St. Louis and it is a growing area. THere is some migration out west from the city, so we are growing, but it is still a fairly nice hospital. In the past couple years there have been 5,000. to 6,000 dollar sign on bonuses for new nurses. Alittle farther north like in Pike and Ralls county those are a little more rural really, nice open country areas. There are some nice rural areas down in South Missouri like in Texas and Houston counties which is about an hour north of Springfield. i am not sure about any sign on or relocation bonuses with any of those places, but they are rural.

Barnes Jewish Hospital has a $6,000.00 sign on bonus!!

How is that $6k distributed all at once, over a year? 2 years? What is the pay like at Barnes Jewish? I'd hate to get a $6k bonus and then get stiffed on my hourly rate!

I'm really considering Barnes in STL or Parkland in Dallas for the critical care/burn/ICU training. they are the best I've come across so far. I'm willing to take a slightly depressed starting slary for a year or two for that training.
