Want to move to Texas, but worried about GroupOne!

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I am a new grad RN, and I am interested in moving to Texas for work, but I am terrified of GroupOne. I have an excellent record with both of my previous employers, but I don't want my record to be ruined if I don't deserve it. I am getting the impression that if I do something in a hospital that someone does not like, even if it's something that I did right, they can retaliate with GroupOne. The worst part is that if I move to Texas, it would preferably be the Dallas / Fort Worth area, as my fiance may have work waiting for him there. It seems that DFW is the area most saturated with GroupOne issues. Am I making something out of nothing? Can anyone provide me with words of wisdom? Any and all input is welcome, thank you in advance.

What is group one?? I want to move to Dallas but I have not heard of Group One. I am coming from Florida. I just received my RN license from Texas and looking for employment in the DFW/Plano/North Dallas area. How is Texas Health Resource?? Good hospital??

No, GroupOne is primarily utilized by the hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Thank goodness no! I'm in Houston and the only time i've heard of this is on here.

........... GroupOne only exists in the DFW area. So, if you live in another area there is no concern.

Group1 is operating in other areas of TX in addition to DFW. They are also in Louisiana now. I read it on their web site.

I had a friend who was abused via Group1.

She was a new grad and moved to DFW to be near family. She got a job in a Dallas hospital on a neuro unit, and was promised a three month orientation with a preceptor.

Her first week on the job, she arrived for her shift one noc and was told there was no one to orient her and she would be given a full load on her own. She refused saying it would be unsafe. She was told to go home and was taken off of the schedule- fired, basically.

She was unable to get another job. She checked with Group1, and the hospital had put in a complaint about her.

She was barely able to avoid forclosure on her home. She moved back to her home state and is doing fine now.

My God!! That company and the organizations that are involved with them need to have a class action suit hit them!!!:madface:

That nurse did the right thing by refusing that assignment. What a shame she had to endure that.....
