is it okay if i apply for initial licensure at california? i chose california because i had a relative (aunt) which is already a US Citizen living there, or there are more better states to apply with? i want to know where are the states that do not require CGFNS and required only NCLEX.

Only a handful of states require CGFNS exam although many require CES from them. The reason we do not recommend Ca is they will not issue a license without a SSN which you can't get until in the US with a valid work permit to which you may be looking at a few years unless retrogression changes for nurses. Also you need to think ahead to where you actually want to work because if another state you may still have to meet their requirements for foreign trained nurses which may involve CGFNS, plus if you want to continue further education in the US then more than likely you will need CES from CGFNS

There seems to be a lot going on in your head. Take everything one step at a time. Focus on passing the NCLEX-RN exam first and then take it from there.

Just because your auntie is in CA, you are looking at five years plus for a chance at a green card.
