Want to bash the job listings SOOO bad.

Published

I see so many job listings down in the corner on the desktop website. With all of the personalized ads based off of your location, a lot of them are for facilities I've worked.

Some of those facilities are so bad, they were a "one-and-done," where I worked one shift as a per diem agency nurse and never went back.

I was dumb enough to ignore my instincts and accept a full time position at one of them.

Do you ever wish you could comment on the job postings? I do.

I would post some pitfalls to avoid, some advice on how to get in to some facilities, and tell job hunters which ones didn't suck and which ones were awesome.

There is a job listing down there now where I just want to post "RUN AWAY. Don't look back, don't hesitate. Save yourself!"

One of the facilities I worked at posted my job right after I left. I wanted to post, "Yeah, I left for a REASON. Here's the Top 10 list of why you shouldn't work blah-blah hospital's blah-blah unit."

Anybody else have these impulses? What would you post?

So, like a yelp for jobs at facilities...doesn't sound like a bad idea.

They kind of have that already. Indeed. I read their reviews all the time.

True. I need to go in and leave some reviews on there.

I just wish we could comment on the ones posted here. They're RIGHT THERE. In my face. Laughing at me.

"Haha! You may have gotten out, but we're still here, luring in the unwary."

LOL!

Thanks, I went on there and posted a nasty review for the one hellhole and a great one for the place I wish I was still working.

Specializes in HH, Peds, Rehab, Clinical.

I had no idea those ads were supposed to be geared towards individual posters according to location! I have ads for University of Michigan hospital and Oregon University---neither of which are near me, LOL

None of the jobs I see posted are near me, either.

Lol, reminds me of a posting that I saw for a new grad position on a unit I occasionally floated to during my adult capstone course in school. The nurses had five to six patients, they often got called out due to low census (and were required to use their PTO), and the unit had a creepy abandoned asylum feel to it. Wish I could have left some not so nice anonymous comments.

Found out a month later that one of my classmates had accepted the position :wideyed: Sorry, girl!
