Wake Tech Spring 2017 Start

Published

Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

That's great CN_2bRN919! I've been practicing my skills on my children. I even wash my hands the "CNA" way to help me from reverting back to my old ways..lol!! 34 days!!! :roflmao:

WSMom, CNA, whenever you applied to the nursing program last semester for fall 2016, did you have your 40 clinical CNA hours from the WTCC CNA course? I can't remember if you said you've worked as a CNA or not. I apologize as I know you've mentioned it in the past.

CN_2bRN919 I just started my AP2 this week. Wow!!! This class is going to be challenging. Two different instructors teaching. If I can get a C I will have 164 points for the fall 2017. Do u think that's competitive enough? I bet you are going crazy waiting for that acceptance letter. I'm so excited to finally be this close.

Hi gotgifts3! Yes I am certainly going crazy! Any free time that I have, all I can think about is if my application is complete. So paranoid that I've missed one small detail that will keep me from getting ranked. So excited that this time next month spring 2017 applicants will probably be getting their letters, but I can't help but wish it was sooner. So anxious! I think 164 is great!! Especially since 162 was the start of acceptance for fall 2016. Praying you have a smooth semester! Praying you get an A or B so you'll have more than 164 points! Does your AP2 class have two different lecture instructors, or do you mean you have a lab instructor and a lecture instructor?

HI, I just read your message today. Sometimes I get lost on this forum reading other topics about nursing life, lol. Yes, I just used my clinical hours. Yes, just the clinical from waketech CNA course. I haven't worked as a CNA. No worries.

WSMom, CNA, so glad to finally hear from you lol! I get lost on YouTube watching nursing school videos ;) Do you remember when you did your information session for nursing? In person or online?

Just got back home from school and running errands and starving! I just did nursing info session online in July.

Okay, WSMom, CNA, gotcha! When did you do your info session that counted for your January 2016 application? Or do you mean you did the online info session last July?

I think that last week (maybe the week before last), Jpeters247 mentioned that she had spoken with Ms. Watkins, and advisors had not begun reviewing applications yet since at the time they were busy advising. Curious as to whether they're starting to review applications now. 9/1 is Thursday and before we know it, it will be the third week of September and letters will be in the mail. I remember being told by an advisor over the summer that it usually takes about 4-6 weeks to rank students depending on the amount of applicants.

CN_2bRN919 Yeah, I used my July online info session. I printed the info session certificate and attached it to my application just to be sure. So, on my application, I attached copy of my info session certificate, the info session score certificate and a copy of my CNA certificate. I am about to go to the doctor today to have my TB skin test read by a doctor and sign the form. My CPR was done last Saturday too. These tasks are getting completed slowly but surely. :yes:Guys, it is September tomorrow! :nailbiting:Gaaaah!

WSMom, CNA, congrats on getting your requirements done slowly but surely. I didn't attach any of that info to my application. I did an online info session in September and did one in person in May. Hopefully they're okay with the fact that I didn't attach all those details. They should be noted in my student record. I know the NAI course is on your transcript if you did WTCC's program. The information session should be noted in my record as well.

The countdown is on!! Officially!! Can't believe at the end of this month we'll know our fate!

Did anyone else attach certificates to their application?

WSMom, CNA, did you attach that information to your application when you applied in January?
