Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.
No way CN2bRN will I retake a science course. Like the lab on line for me was a fetal pig which I kept in my half bathroom along with a slew of ither animals parts. I'm so happy with my B, it's an understatement. However a grade of A would've been good, but didn't work out that way. I was thinking of retaking a PSY over again. Beth Watkins said not to that it wasn't with it. I'm hoping to make a reallllllllllly high grade on the TEAS. You guys made an 80 or so right. Do you feel as though an 91 is possible to pull off?
I also said to myself that I would study as much random stuff just to say on top of my game after I submit my application and wait. While waiting I like to pray without ceasing and make ready for what's next. I've been shadowing the CNA at my job this week on top of my regular phlebotomy duties. After next Wednesday I will have fulfilled my CNA 40 hour requirement, thank God. It was a blessing to do it at my job, every where else you had to actually be hired as a CNA.
Laila orientation was long but full of information that I felt was very useful. There was multiple speakers and some were students in the program and one just graduated and now works at wakemed. They shared about their experiences which was nice. The instructors went over deadlines, dress code, clinicals, books, and the schedule. They also did a raffle. Overall very informative.
The guy who just graduated and now works at wakemed said he worked as a NA at wakemed while in school full time and he has two kids and a wife and basically for 2 years he worked every Saturday and Sunday and for a few hours on like Monday or Tuesday after class just to make up the rest of his time. I plan on still working full time at UNC if I get in, and that's basically what I had already planned on doing, plus using pto to fill in holes. Now I just gotta move on up the list :)
It's totally random and cannot be changed unless you can find someone who is willing to switch with you. So as bad as it sounds, I'm kinda hoping there will be some who decide to go somewhere else just because of the schedule. For the clinicals they ask for volunteers first for the night group, but if no one volunteers they randomly pick people. They said there is no rhyme or reason for who gets into what group, it's all random.

Hi there ladies! I'm actually taking A&P II this summer online. I have no choice to retake, as my B in that course is a year outdated..blah. I'm going to cease the moment and take this opportunity to review anatomy before I start clinicals in January
:)
