Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.
You are always on point with answers CN_2b919RN!! I love it! Yes, my transcripts are from other schools. I believe that we have a great chance of getting in based on our scores so far! I still have to take the TEAS, CNA, and retake a bio this summer. Once those are complete, I will have maybe a maximum 184 points out of a possible 216. I'm so excited, anxious, and stressed about this whole process!
Be blessed
No problem Laila34, that's what we're all here for... to help each other! I am feeling the exact same emotions you are! So stressed, yet so anxious to apply! I've been going to open lab to practice my skills for the CNA exam so I'm not really feeling as nervous anymore. More than likely you and I will have around the same points! I hope those points get us in! When did you do your NUR information session? Did you go to a seated session or did you do it online?
Wonderful! I actually attended the online information session last week. I took the test afterwards and made a 100% on my 1st attempt! I will be faxing my certificate this week. Unfortunately, the info provided on the PowerPoint is not accurate. I've found most of my questions and answers from this forum ;-) wht about you? Did you attend live or online?
I sure wish I knew of a 2 or 4 day CNA course, so that I can challenge while WTCC is still accepting challengers. Does anyone know about any CNA 2 or 4 day courses in the Raleigh- Durham area? Anywhere close? I would rather do that vs taking a 1 month course.
Hey everyone! I guess I can retire from the 2016 forum after our dear friends find out their statuses on Friday. Laila34, those were my sentiments exactly. I couldn't fanthom sitting in another class for 6 months at night time, I greatly passes the challenge test by watching you tube videos and online practice test. I believe a lot of the one day classes had to stop after March 1 as well. The question is did you register as a challenger or one that took a course?
Laila34, I am so extremely jealous of your A in chem, but I am also very happy the school does not take chem into consideration for points because that is one of my weaker subjects lol. My degree is in the sciences so I took a lot of chem courses. General chem is something I have become decent at after years of practice, but once I hit organic chem I was crying myself to sleep at night lol.

Hi Jpeters! I didn't know of that change. No, I didn't know I needed to register as a challenger. I know all the skills, however; I need to brush up and wanted to try and challenge. I just didn't know what to do nor where to start. It looks like I will be taking this month long class and call it a day. Plus, the school that I'm taking the course with is also a facility of the state exam. Thanks for the info ;-)
Jpeters247, I am taking two online courses and I love them! I love online courses in general because they fit more easily into my busy schedule than seated courses. I can't believe the semester is over in three weeks, but I am sooo ready for a break, although after this semester I will not be taking anymore courses until I get in the clinical phase. I was debating taking a math course this summer but decided to put that on the back burner after I did pretty decent on the placement test yesterday. Right now my grades are borderline so finals are going to make or break my grade. What class were you debating retaking? Was it AP2?

Laila34, do you mean evaluate your transcript from a previous school? It took about 1-2 weeks for me. Once it's done, definitely look over your grades in WebAdvisor and make sure they were entered into the WTCC system correctly. I had two classes that had a wrong grade. They evaluate so many transcripts it's easy to make an error. They fixed the error within a day or two. They typically send an email to let you know it's evaluated. I never got an email saying my transcript was received, I just followed up to make sure they got it.
