I am applying to the Fall 2015 nursing program and was wondering if anyone else was applying. I also wanted to know what points you have, I just want to estimate my chances of getting in for the Fall. I know the Fall semester is always harder to get in at Wake Tech. I am also applying to other programs as well just because I feel like I will be put on the wait list at Wake Tech. Just feeling anxious.
What did they change about the teas points? Are the rest of the points the same?
Spring 2016 applicants with a Composite Score of 71% or higher on the TEAS V will be awarded 50 points in the competitive ranking portion of the admissions process.
Effective for Fall 2016 (Deadline: Jan 31, 2016) clinical applications, 20 points will be awarded for Composite Scores of 91% or above; 12 points for Composite Scores between 81%-90%; and 6 points for Composite Scores between 71%-80%.
Omg! so what would be the points required to enter into the program? It sounds like will be very difficult to get into the nursing program from now on.... Unless they adjusted the points given for each credit earned.
I'm not sure about the points given for each letter grade. I guess that would be shared in the information session. The info I posted before about the TEAS exam was from the Wake Tech nursing program section.
Has anyone purchased their books outside of Wake Tech? Maybe individually on Amazon or some other place? I'm comparing prices on Amazon to the $1100 "bundle" pack they're telling us to get at Wake Tech and it seems to be double in price. Unless, I'm missing something??? I was given quite a few nursing books, but it looks like only two are on the list for our program. \
I purchased books already. I'm gonna get the e book of the peds book we need. I paid $908 for the bundle and they come with the simulation codes you can't get anywhere else. I bought my drug guide for $30 off half.com. It's like an eBay for textbooks so you don't pay tax on the books. Just shipping. It's brand new with online codes and everything.
Also, make sure yall look on blackboard for the "blueprint" for the med. calc test. Tells you what all you need to memorize if you haven't seen it yet.
They are making it to where you don't fail this test. And if you do then there's a problem lol.

Did you purchase the bundle from the Wake Tech bookstore? I thought they said it was around $1100.
I'm a bit nervous about starting!! Are you in 4301 or 4302??
The book bundle is 908 at the bookstore. The total cost of books is about 1100. I decided not to go with the e book because through the bookstore its like $80. I found it on alibis.com for 94.98 total with shipping. They don't charge tax. It was originally like 98.99 but there was an $8 coupon code. I'm all about some coupons now lol. I am in 4302. I also volunteered for the evening clinical rotation.
