Hi there! New grad here (yes, I said it!). Took the test two weeks ago, found out my college only sent out our transcripts a week ago, so now I really don't know where in the "time frame" me and my classmates are with regards to results.
I read that CA still processes licenses by hand, thus adding to the waiting time. However, other students from other schools have received their results in less than two weeks.
I'm so frustrated, at the same time very very very anxious. As with most NCLEX-RN takers, I have NO IDEA how I did on the test. I just don't want to burden my parents with another $200 for me to retake my exam.
Some of my classmates have a pride thing, where they would be so ashamed if they didn't pass. For me, I just want to do what I want to do, care for patients, as soon as I can. Hopefully the test found me a safe entry level nurse. If not, well....
I'm ready to relocate if need be. I live in the Bay Area and its cut throat over here... I'm guessing more than 10 people vying for one precious position.
Thank you all for your responses. I did the PVT and I got the good popup. I am very skeptical though, because no one in my class has gotten through to the payment page...
Yes, I look every day at the license verification and I plug in all of my classmates' names (the ones who took the exam before me). Nothing yet.
I may just call the BRN, I want to know my results, but at the same time I'm scared to be put on top of the list only to find out I failed.
I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this. The stressful days and restless sleep and just feeling kind of weak inside is such a bad feeling. I have been looking at jobs but when I applied to a couple they said they needed my license number and they couldn't work on the application without it.
For now, I'll have to trust the PVT. and maybe call the BRN. Finding out early either way will end the torture. If I do have to retake (I hope not please) I'll retake it in another state so that I have the option to do Quick Results.
With regards to employment yes 150 people vying for one spot just makes me want to go and find a hospital that would give me the experience and give me a chance to do patient care ASAP. I know A LOT of "new grads" from 2009 in CA still waiting to be hired. I'm going to be more pro-active than that.
Two dogs, not married and very supportive parents. I'm lucky because I have the option to relocate... It's gonna be tough going here in California. I'll keep you all updated. I love this board wish I would have joined sooner!
Please keep us updated! I am sure you passed :) Yay! As for the transcript part, I hope you find out more tomorrow. I had heard of similar issues with transcripts, like filing the first initial of the first name instead of the last name, etc.
I used it, people in my class that failed the first time used it twice and say it works in both instances. I had an instructor tell me one day all of her students have used it and there have been no false (negative or positive) results.
That's just dumb that you have to wait so long--the results were calculated before you left your chair. It makes me mad that these states delay so long and then want to charge you for expidited results.

im just curious as to how many days you waited for your results in cali to be posted, and did you check their website for the results?
i took my exma last march 14,2011.. i know its a lil bit early but im so nervous and i just want to know waht my sattus is. i also tried the pvt trick and ive been getting the good pop-up. but i need more reassurance..sigh..:confused:
