Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

Welcome abbs1033! Where do you attend classes? What campuses have you applied to? I go to Indianapolis and Indy-Lawerence, and I've applied to Anderson and Indy-Law.

Thank you. I applied to Kokomo only. I live outside of Tipton and I don't really want to drive far away...so we will see. I got all my pre-reqs done in December and have all of my co-reqs done from when I was in school the first time, so currently I'm not taking any classes. Good luck to you, and I hope time goes quickly for you!

I always used to read the WAITING ON ACCEPTANCE LETTERS threads and wonder if i would ever get to post on that board. isn't it crazy that it is US now!!?!?!?!

Lennon- you are going to yourself a panic attack woman! I am completely serious when I tell you that I really truly believe that you are going to get in! I'm not just trying to make you feel better, i really believe that you are ok. I don't even question it, i just wonder which one you'll choose! i think you have a really good chance of getting into Bloom and I am very confident that you will be in Indy as well.

From the people I know in real Life (not talking about ppl on here , or ppl who know somebody who heard from somebody else etc etc)....from the real life ppl I know--> only 2 ppl that I personally know got 90+ on their teas scores. Most ppl have low to mid 80's. I heard a bunch of ppl last week in my class in Indy saying that all had high 70's ( a few had a B in a class)

I didn't/don't even know when they send letters out.

A girl in my class said they have sent out letters to people that have zero chance of getting in. These are people they do not have any As in the 4 required classes.

Indy - Thank you for the kind words and vote of confidence :) I do think that I'll most likely get in, but I'm really scared of jinxing myself you know? There could have been a paperwork error, or the sign in sheet from the nursing info meeting at Bloomington that I went to back in 2007 could be misplaced, you know, stuff like that could happen. I'm a worrier by nature (big surprise, I know!)

all4him - Really, they did that already? Wow!

I feel the same way, Lennon! I attended the June 2007 info session in Indy, and I'm afraid they lost the record of it. I went to the open office hours on a Monday to make sure they had record of me attending, the admin assistant said she would call me if they didn't. Ummmm, I wanted to know NOW!! At least I didn't get a phone call. :)

The time is just dragging. I should keep my mind on classes and work, but always seem to think of the letter. What is everyone else doing to stay sane?

I honestly don't think about it too much. I am enrolled full-time right now, this last 4 weeks of school it seems like everything is piling up in every class. I have two huge papers due, one on 4/20 & the other on 4/28. A&P II I have 2 lecture (one on 4/25)tests and 1 lab test left. I can't wait til April is over! The last 3 weeks of May, is when I'll start getting really anxious and impatient for that letter.

A girl in my class said they have sent out letters to people that have zero chance of getting in. These are people they do not have any As in the 4 required classes.

Wow, what campus is that from?

I'm at Evansville campus. She said she heard a girl in her A&P II class telling some other girls she got that letter. That girl did not have any As at all.

I'm afraid they'll label me OCD for attending 2 different Indy info sessions, and NOT let me in! LOL!

Great thread everyone! Nice to have a place to "chat" while we wait... and wait... and wait. This little lesson in patience will be a good thing, right? (ahem!) I applied at Indy (only), with an 86.5% TEAS (1 attempt), and a 4.0 (ANP102 pending, but looks promising) The admin asst felt my chances were favorable, so fingers crossed! I'll be taking ANP201 this summer, anyone else?

Yes, I'm taking ANP201 this summer, I'm in the Tuesday/Friday class at Lawerence (12:00-4:00 on Tues, 10:00-2:00 on Fridays). Which one are you in?
