Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

Published

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

I hope it's the 29th. My materials say "on or before May 30th."

Mine says mailed by May 30th, but a girl I know in the ASN program said she got her before that date. It came early, like May twenty-something. I'm hoping that happens again.

Thank you SusanLJ!

Has anyone who's applied to the Anderson/Muncie campus received their email confirmation yet? I hand-delivered my Indy-Lawerence application, but mailed my Anderson one since they said they confirm applications with email. It's been a week, but no email

Hmm. I didn't realize people got confirmations. I applied to the Fort Wayne campus about 3 weeks ago. I guess they don't do confirmations there. We just dropped in in a receptacle in a hallway. It seriously looked like a trash can, and just said "ASN and LPN applications here"

Wow, sounds disconcerting to drop your application in a trash-like receptacle! I'm not sure who else sends confirmations, I was told this by the program chair in Anderson

My friend is in the ASN program at Evansville, she is in her 3rd semester. I didn't get any email confirmations either. It would be nice if they would do that.

I hand delivered my apps to Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence. I took off work two hours early to make it to Lawrence in time for their office to still be open, but it was important to me to do it in person, just to be sure, you know?

I hate that we have to wait SO LONG because I've been obsessed with looking at steths online and rolling backpacks and stuff, but I don't want to buy anything (except for the awesome clipboard I got at work last month) because I don't want to jinx myself.

I've been listening to a podcast about a nursing fundamentals textbook lately and obsessing over that too. I feel like I'm absorbing at least a little of the information already even if I'm listening to it while I'm doing other things. It's just nice to hear a little about what a nursing diagnosis actually is and stuff like that.

Oh, where did you get the podcast, Lennonnija? I'd love to have that!

I just re-read this thread from the beginning, I also have 4 A's and a 90 on my TEAS. Sounds like everyone has done so well with points, now I'm getting nervous because I didn't apply for LPN slots because I thought a 213 (210 for Anderson)would be good.

Stop obsessing

stop obsessing

stop obsessing .............!!!!!

If you search "F.A.Davis" you'll find a few different podcasts actually.

cthomas - I have 213 for Bloomington and 210 for Lawrence. I didn't apply to the LPN either so hopefully our scores are good enough!

Ugh, last night I had a nightmare about not getting an acceptance letter. I think I'm going to crack before June :(

I really do not think you have anything to fret about. You have a great score!! The only people that could do better than you would have to have perfect teas scores. The majority of people do not. Most the people I talk to have scores in the 70's or a few didn't pass. At my school, I talked to one girl who had an 86 that was the highest score of people I've talked to in person. She had 1 B for her pre-reqs. I know the people on this forum have high scores. This is a very very small percentage of the applicants. Don't sweat it, you'll get in! Honestly, I feel pretty good about getting in and I have a 206.

cthomas, what campuses did you apply to?
