I am officially applying to carrington college in Reno! I know that nursing is what i'm meant to do! My interview went terrific... They take 32 people, and I was told 350 were going to take the hesi a2. I know a good chunk of those people might not even pass, and then you have to make sure everything gets done before the deadline (drug test, background check, documents etc.) I took the Hesi a2 on a weeks notice... studied my butt of and managed a 92%! (or a 277/300). Everyone is telling me I should be proud of my score... And that I shouldn't be worried about getting in.... BUT I AM! Letters will be mailed out Nov 28th. I'm dying already! Is 92% (277) a competitive score?? Admissions reps asked if I was considering taking the test again... But I heard them ask that to everyone that was interviewing in the rooms next to me as well. All of the dates are full and I am on a waiting list... But bottom line i'm trying to feel confident in my score, but I'm a worrier by nature. I like to be the best! (Terrible habit I know). Any insight or help would be much appreciated! :)
Yeah good luck with that. I called to confirm my spot and they informed me I now have to prove that I have a "financial plan" for the entire thing. Aka showing I'm pre approved for loans for 2nd and 3rd financial year. Even though I'm covered for the first. And this is the first I've been told about this after having meetings with financial aid before.
Yeah, I'm finding there is a LOT of stuff they failed to tell us we needed to prepare for admissions. I will have to call them tomorrow. That's good you're covered for the first. I've taken most of the core (non-nursing) classes so I don't think I will need to pay till semester 3 but we will see. This might mess with my current loans for UNR right now. You know anyone else who was accepted?
No, I'm new to Reno. Moved here from CA since its much easier (or so I thought) to get into nursing school. I'm slightly frustrated and discouraged after my call since they scheduled me an appointment for tues morning, and I'm somehow supposed to get a loan by then with a weekend in between? I'm going to have to reschedule or something... It's just impossible. I wish they would have told me this before so I could have been prepared for it now knowing I need all of that just to enroll in my classes.
I'm Rebecca. I hope financing works out for all of us. I'm hoping they can schedule me an appointment for December 9th. I'm assuming that will be the last possible day for me schedule. I filled out my FAFSA last night so I'm hoping when I call to reserve my spot they can tell me EVERYTHING I need to complete prior to our meeting.
Nice to meet both of you!

No I didn't get my letter. I just spoke with admissions directly over the phone. I just couldn't handle waiting anymore! lol
