Waiting for DCN acceptance summer06

Published

Hi

I am just waiting to hear if I have been accepted to DCN for summer06. I talked to someone from DCN a few days ago and my file is complete they just need to review it. Just wondering if there is anyone else out there going to DCN in the summer06.

Mona RN...

Congrats on passing the RN NCLEX!!! I am waiting for my ATT for the PN NCLEX right now...hope to take the exam by the 17th of February. From what I have been told, the ONLINE ASN students from DCN have a 100% pass rate on the PN NCLEX, for those that decided to sit this exam after semester three.

Keep in touch!

Cheri :)

Hi Cheri,

Yes, DCN enjoys 100% pass rate for the PN portion of the ASN program. I am sure you will do fine on it. Good Luck:)

Hi Cheri,

So far, those of us who finished the program in December 2005 have a 4/4 first time pass rate on the RN boards. According to DCN administration, we are the first class to benefit from all the additional implementations and changes.

On a note to all others concerned about the ASN online program at DCN. From speaking with the administration and going over what transpired over the first two years of the program, many things have changed. One of the issues is this is an online program and as such students need to take direct responsibility for all aspects of their education. One of these aspects is preparing for the boards. Unfortunately, it's obvious this was not happening with all students. Now to avoid this problem, DCN has instituted a testing process whereby students must test out of the program in order to graduate. This serves to make sure students are well prepared and to allow students to identify areas of weakness.

I too believe DCN will be permitted to continue the ASN online program once DCN has the opportunity to present the facts and figures regarding the students who have graduated since all changes were put into place.

Good luck to you Cheri and all the others at DCN.

Wow- this does not sound good at all! I too have applied and am hoping for a response. It sounds like it will be at least be April before we know for sure. Does anyone know of any other online programs that offer the same type of degree program as DCN? :o

Hi all! I am very interested in applying for DN for fall classes. I have some questions for those of you that have already enrolled.. What requirments do you have to have to get accecpted? My SAT scores were not so good and I didn't take good classes in High School.. but that is all past me now and I really want to go to school to become a nurse.. Any suggestions? Also how many classes did you take before you started your clinical? Thanks!

:o Oh, what a shame is right. I just received some info from Deaconess College in the mail about two weeks ago and I was seriously considering their program, but thanks for the good info. Do anyone know of any other ASN online program or traditional program to become ADN? I live in the Southeast region..
