Wage for STNA or CNA

Published

I am a Staff Development Coordinator for a LTC building. I would like some feed back as to what the starting wage for a New STNA is, and does your building offer shift diffs?

TIA

I was just offered a job in a sub-acute rehab for $14/hour, $1.50 night shift differential. Closer to home, too. I'm taking it.

Colorado.

I just accepted an on-call CNA position at the ICU in one of my local hospital. Starting pay is $15.51/hour, but I'll be receiving an additional 15% in-lieu of benefits, coming out to $17.84/hour. I've only been a CNA for 4 months. This is the highest wage I've ever had.

Wow I want to know where some of you are making that kind of money. Here most ltc facilities start around 8. The hospitals around 9.50. As a nurse extern I only make 11.70. Right now they're spending a lot of money to sweeten the deal for rn retention so at least in a year it'll be better.

I'm in Tacoma, WA.

I get paid $9.85 an hour at my current job. When I worked at the nursing home, I started at $9.50 and was making $10.50 when I left 2 years later. The nursing home paid more because they have staff retention issues; I took the pay cut to save my mental health and since then, our financial circumstances have improved o cover the gap. Sometimes it isn't always about the money.

Hi Ukrainian, I see you are located in Los Angeles. Do you have other agencies available? I am interested and a CNA with 6 years experience. Also, do you have to have a home health certificate? Thank you

PS Do you also have the free app for the Hesi exit PN exam?

i make 15 an hour, and i feel that its a fair wage. i only have 8 people on any given day, in an emergency situation, 10. i dont even have to turn people, they have turn teams, if you can believe it! (i still do though, i dont mind it a bit )

i meant to add that i also sit when needed, and i get paid the same either way.

I get $12.75/hr in a nursing home (well it says rehab facility but I think it's more of a nursing home) in California. Cost of living here is very high so while that wage is higher than some of you, it's really not much. Some of the hospitals near me pay in the $20's, up to $32 I've seen. I applied but got no bites, probably since I have no experience (I just started). Once I get some more experience, I'll apply to the hospitals again.

Specializes in Nurse's Aide.

My hourly wage is 12.75/hr and I reside in a nursing home with rehab.
