Hi Everyone. I wanted to create a thread for the vcu CRNA 2023. Has anyone submitted their application yet ?

Hey guys. Fellow applicant here-I hear back about an interview on May 27th well after everyone else. I think what’s happening is they’re sending out the requests in batches and as the deadline for each batch approaches they roll out the next batch. My deadline to respond was June 1st so I would guess that there is another one. We don’t even know when the interviews are, they said they’ll be in touch with a date in the “coming weeks”. 

Remember that I got an email response directly from Amanda Alley in late April that ALL applicants will hear back regardless of application status. I really don’t think its over, everyone will hear back! ?

The email I received stated May 22nd as the deadline to respond to the invite. The link in the email stated May 20th. I responded on May 21st. Im not sure why there was this discrepancy but this leaves me anxious as to where I stand…

Ahhh I see, that would definitely make me anxious too. I hope that you hear something from them soon! I’m hopeful that they will still interview you since the discrepancy in dates is their mistake.

I just got a rejection email ? no interview for me. I had a 4.0, CCRN, 4 years experience, paid for resume services - feeling super discouraged but wishing the rest of you the best of luck!! Hopefully next year ?

Just saw my rejection too. I'm a little surprised too. I have a 3.7 GPA, CCRN, CMC, four different committees including being UPC chair, research, really critical ICU.

I'm not sure what they didn't like about my application.

For the ones that got their rejection email (myself included), do not be discouraged. We will all be successful. Failure is a part of the human experience and I know it sucks, however, it is how you deal with that failure that matters. Pick yourselves up and try again. If you all really want this then there will be no plan b. Take care and I look forward to applying alongside those that try again on the next round. Just got my rejection letter. One thing about them taking so long is I was able to mentally prepare LOL.

Well said, Katie!

Everyone here is a strong applicant, but with 350+ applicants and ~45 seats up for grabs, it is splitting hair at this point. I wish everyone who has an interview coming up luck and that you all got this!

For the rest of us, we will come out stronger next cycle! I just emailed back the Admissions Committee Chair to see if I can get any feedback on my application. Best of luck to everyone!

Did you have GRE? I really wonder if all who got interviews had GRE without exception.

I don’t think that that matters. They did away with it as a requirement and that started with our applications.
