Hi, my name is Mike. I'm opening this thread to connect with other people who are applying or have been accepted to the BSNExpress program at Villanova for Spring 2015. Feel free to share any thoughts and suggestions you might have and to ask questions. Hopefully this forum can serve as a way for us to get to know each other a bit prior to the start of the program.
hi everyone!
I was accepted for BSNExpress May 2015 and could not be more excited! Really look forward to meeting all of you :) It looks like there haven't been any comments in awhile, but I just had a some questions if anyone can help! I am registered to take Pathophysiology at Villanova right now, but saw in some comments that it was available at Delaware County too. Do you have the course abbreviation and number? Thanks!
Does anyone know if its okay to wait until the first week of May to do the drug screen? The chain of custody form is being sent to my school address and I live 2 hours away, so I don't want to drive out there just to get the forms, I'd rather wait until I move back in May but I don't know if that will be cutting it too close.
I look forward to meeting everyone!
Still 'under review,' but my interview feedback got posted and it's super excellent, so fingers are still crossed! I started looking at housing in the area and one bedrooms seem super expensive ($1200). It's probably way early, but I need to do something to assuage my nervous energy. If I get in, I'm going to be looking for 1-2 roommate(s) for a 2 or 3 bedroom. I'm looking to spend in the range of $650-800, within 30 minutes of campus. I have a 2 year old cat who likes people but not other animals (she was attacked by a neighbor's dog who ran into our house and is now scared of other animals). I'm 27, female, non-smoker, like to cook, occasionally have a couple friends over but no crazy parties. I have a car and would def. be willing to ridegroup to classes and clinicals if possible. I have a good amount of furniture/ kitchen stuff because I currently live alone, but would be willing to store some if you have a lot of stuff too, esp if we can find a place that has storage. I'm looking for 1-2 roommates who non-smokers, any gender and orientations, ages 22-40, who are not allergic to my cat but don't have pets of their own, and who are interested in a mutually respectful apartment or houseshare. Also must not judge Saturday afternoon cleaning/dance parties to 90's pop.
Anyone else looking for similar?
Living around nova is quite expensive, but being a graduate student helps because a lot of places are closed to undergrads (although, they are no really cheaper). I pay $900/mo for a 1 BR apartment at "Villanova Crossings" and it takes me under 10 minutes to bike to class. The building is small, but I think we have a basement room that just got redone so that may be available. Nova also has two SEPTA train stops so definitely take a look at places close to a train station, even if they are relatively far away because it only take 35 minutes to go from Nova to 30th street station, there's a lot o viable living options along that line.
