Very unpredictable NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

So, I took the nclex today and I was suprisingly calm but I had some nerves going into the test. Of course it didn't help that when entering the testing center it seems as if you are going into a high security government secured area. You name it they did it...everything from finger printing, picture taking, audio reacording and live cam surveilance of you taking the test.

All I remember was that I could hear my heart pounding as the first question appeared and to make my situation worse. The question was not an easy question...I was like what the hell is this. The of course the next question was harder.

There was absolutely no time during the test that I could say I could detect if the questions were getting harder or easier. I was answering questions, like a kid in a candy store...just choosing anything that looked good. Although there were some questions that I was positive of.

Another rant I would like to add to this is that there is really no way to study for the NCLEX. You would have to know every single disease, medication, procedure, precaution, front and back , inside and out, to prepare for the NCLEX.

Anyhow, it sucks that we don't have quick results and from what I found out today. The testing center I took the NCLEX already knows if I passed or failed. I wish soon after you finish the test you could get a print out of if you passed or didn't pass.

Oh, if your wondering. The test stopped at 75 questions.

You just described me taking the test last week. I had the ear plugs but i swear i could hear my heart pounding . I've never felt that way taking any test in my whole entire life. It gave me a break then shut off at 80 qtns, i did not achieve a passing score.Next time i will go get a prescription for ativan, mt only fear is i don't take any pills for anything, it might wipe me out. better the nerves than falling asleep in front of the computer at the testing ctr!!
