Hello! I am testing next week for the VEEB PN program and had a couple questions - if you pass, do you most likely get in? How long does it take to hear back? Any other information about this process and the program would be greatly appreciated!

Hello I too am interested in applying to VEEB for September 2024. From speaking with other who have attended once you pass the entrance exam you will get in but after that you have to do your physical, background check and pay the 2k to have a seat in the school.
I read that after you take the entrance exam it takes about 2 weeks to get your results. You will know if you were accepted when they send you a package instead of a letter.

Hi! I passed with a 12.9 in both subjects, I found out I passed after a week and half after taking the entrance exam. I would recommend you get your high school transcript now before you take the exam because it can take a while. Once you pass, you get accepted into the program, you just have to fill out paperwork, complete a background check (through castlebranch) and deposit payment on a 2 week deadline. You lose your spot if you do not get the paperwork in on time. The deadline should be exactly a month from when you took the entrance exam so for example if you took the entrance exam on March 6th, the deadline should be April 6th. Also the entrance exam is very easy, they use the TABE exam. I used Davis math review for nurses (has everything except square root but there's a square root button in the calculator and also practice PEMDAS) and NYS ELA regents to practice.

Hi Racoooon123
Was there any algebra on the exam( like solving equations) Or math word problems?
Hi Trina1619
there were no math word problems, it was adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing normal numbers (like 1 x 1 for example), mixed numbers, fractions, and decimals. there were two PEMDAS questions where it was like 1 + 2 x 3 - 2 (the answer would be 5 according to PEMDAS) and a couple of square root question (I think there was one where it was square root x another square root or a normal number)
they give you scrap paper, a pencil and a very basic calculator
Hi again Racoooon123, Finally some real clarity on how to tackle this exam!! You're going to make a great nurse if you're this kind over the internet LOL. One last question for you. What was the best tool (book, website or guide) you used to study for the reading portion??
I used old ELA regents from jan/June/aug 2023-2024
The regents are harder than the reading on the actual exam, the website that VEEB recommends is pretty much like how the passages are formatted

Thank you so much!! Good luck to you in nursing!

Good morning, any current VEEB students available to answer a few questions relative to the LPN program?
