Hello! I am testing next week for the VEEB PN program and had a couple questions - if you pass, do you most likely get in? How long does it take to hear back? Any other information about this process and the program would be greatly appreciated!

HELLO FUTURE NURSES 2024.

I feel like its taking forever to hear back about my test result, I took it march 16 and today is march 25 nothing yet . Does anyone know exactly how long it take to receive result?  Anyone here lives in suffolk? has anyone gotten their test result back yet? so what score do you have to get to be in the 11 th grade level? I am so confused about that. and raccoooon123 what is 12.9 equivalent to?

I believe it is the equivalent to a 100, I'm not entirely sure. Also, did you eventually hear back?

Hey guys. Can anybody tell me how does the reading comprehension looks like? I see alot about math not the reading. How did you guys prepare for that? Thank you

Hi Txanxan

The reading portion is stories with questions about the story. It's timed and no one finished early. The reading in my opinion was more stressful because the stories were longer than expected and I had no idea how much time I had left to finish with each section.

Thanks Trina for responding. Are the stories similar to the website Veeb provided? Or different?

No problem. That website was all over the place. I would say read the 11th grade main purpose stories with the 5-7 questions. One of the stories on the exam was a poem. Another was about buying a car. All the stories were random. One story was technically a chart with questions. The questions did ask the meaning of words and critical thinking questions about the text. The stories didn't have numbers next to each sentence/line. My best advice is to wear a watch so you don't take too long on a story. Our test started 10 late so we were anxious and tired before it began. I second guessed a few questions from each story. Do you have a test date?

Thank you again Trina1619. My test is this Saturday 5/4 9 am. Im OK with math. It's the reading that's stress me out

No problem! Just don't spend too much time on one story. A lot of people were still reading when the time was up. I would say no more than 5 minutes for each story. I couldn't pull out my phone and there wasn't a clock on the wall. I had no idea how long I was taking on a particular story or how much time I had left to read the others! It took 12 days for the results to come by MAIL and boy was it a long 12 days. It's a very old school system.

Tina you are very a great helper. Is it true there is 80 vocabulary words to do in 24 mns? 38 mns for reading comprehension?

Hi Txanxan,

I took about 20-30 minutes on the reading part. I used old ELA regents (only the multiple choice) to study. They are harder than the stories and questions you will get on the exam so maybe that's why I was able to breeze through it. It is only stories and 5-8 questions per story. This part of the entrance exam is 50 minutes

The 24 minutes is for the math and It's 40 questions. I posted earlier what's exactly on the math part and what I used to study.

For using the ELA regents to study, I used two ELA regent part 1 books. You would want to time yourself 48 minutes for 48 questions.

You can find old NYS ELA regents online and the answer key too for free.

Raccoon13 thanks so much. I have the website Veeb provided with a bunch of stories in there. Been practicing that. The questions they asked came from that stories. Nothing too hard. I want to know if the stories and the questions on the test are similar. So no Vocabulary words separately ?

Each story had about 5-7 questions. There were zero vocab questions or analogy questions. I focused on studying vocab which was a waste of time. They may switch up the test so at one point there was lots of vocab. They only asked "what is meant by the word fruitful in this story?” The test is in the basement and the woman came late. Showing up early was not necessary.  The math did have one 1-2 algebra equations not sure why people can't remember that part. It had 1-2 pemdas and some ratios. The calculator did have +\- and square root button. It's a little annoying hearing that it was "so easy" because English isn't everyone's first language and not everyone is fresh out of high school.
