VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Did anyone else order their nursing shoes? If so what site. I know we are allowed to have nursing mates but is there another brand?

Make sure you all keep posting here during the 2009-2010 LPN program at VEEB about your experiences, etc.

BTW- Where are the 2010-2011 VEEB applicants?

I hope we can keep an open forum going like the 2010 class, Lol. I know applications don't begin until January, but are any of you preparing for the entrance exam yet? Anyone planning to go to VEEB from Queens like me? I'm from the Cambria Heights area. Also, for those who have commuted from the city to VEEB, does the LIRR drop you off in front of the school, or do you have to take a bus after the LIRR?

Ya the closest LIRR stop is Hempstead, then either Taxi ($5-7 + tip) or Bus if you're lucky.

The commute is extremely time consuming and expensive, and if you're late for one leg, you may be stranded for a bit.

I park across the street from VEEB and I finally saw a bus go down Jerusalem Ave. for the first time this week.

Definitely network, and get a carpool together, or get a modest car, the benefits go beyond VEEB.

Are there anyone in Brooklyn that is interested in a study group???

Congrats to the Veeb graduates! Today is YOUR DAY!!!!!!

Congrats to the Veeb graduates! Today is YOUR DAY!!!!!!

:DThank You! Graduation was so wonderful, I actually forgot for a moment how much hard work I put in Veeb for the past year. Reason being, the year went by so so fast. Yes VEEB is diffcult, and ur are going to have to study and focus in order to get through, but it goes by so fast, and it very rewarding come graduation day. For the class of 2010, just stay focus, STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, Go to tutoring, be on time for class, dont be absent unless it is an emergency, dont fall asleep in class, set up goals for ur self(passing score is 70 on each exam, but try to aim for at least an 80 to 85) dont give up, and you will make it through. CONGRULATIONS TO ALL THE MY FELLOW GRADUATES OF 2009. And thank you akanini(class of 2008) for always getting back at me if i had any questions or concerns about anything.:yeah:

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE VEEB CLASS OF 2009!!!:balloons:

It's all over now, its been 1 big celebration since the last final on wed.

It was a great ride, made some terrific friends, and soon I can start a career.

Definitely aim high on every quiz, if you really have the drive, 100 on most quizzes is actually a realistic goal.

Do good on the quizzes and you'll be better prepared for the final exams and feel less pressure.

Honor Roll is 89.5+ average, the Valedictorian and Salutatorian had 95 averages. 23/168 graduated with honors.

To my male counterparts, the temptations are ever present, just keep your priorities straight. Its sad to see people get distracted to the point where they're put on the chopping block. Unfortunately it even happens even the day before graduation.

On thursday I was sitting on the VEEB steps easting breakfast after a practice pre-employment test, and it felt like yesterday that I was sitting on those very steps after my 1st quiz.

It does pass by that quick, so enjoy every moment of it, I sure did.

And the teachers are going to act super serious the first few weeks, but all of them have a sense of humor and they'll come around.

Live, Laugh, Learn...

Thanks so much for all your advice, Grindin, and CONGRATULATIONS to you!!! But before you run off celebrating and leave us all here, can you PLEASE just tell us what to expect on the first day?? :) Like what should we show up with, which books, etc? Thank you sooo much!

Congratulations Grindin, how soon can you schedule your NCLEX test after graduation?

CONGRATS Grindin!! I know it was WELL worth the stress, money and time! Was the graduation @ the school..did they give like a special sash to the people who graduated with honors?

Congratulation Grindin!!!!
