Hi All,
I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.
What are the Teachers like?
What are the required books?
Is the program as intense as they say?
Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?
Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?
Do they provide job Placement at the end???
Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!
I bought my books from online at various web sites. I bought alot from amazon.com and payhalf.com. I have spent about 295 or less, with only 4 more books to buy. It was alot of work but I did find them cheaper. I took advantage of amazons free shipping on some.
I'm guessing you didn't get the newest/latest editions then? Or were you able to find them discounted? I'm getting my books from a current student as everyone I've asked says they are the same thing. Just wondering if anyone else is not getting the latest editions.
Hey Yolettie. I am trying to get as many of the current editions as I can, but I am going to be using SOME of the earlier editions as well. I think (and this is really just my opinion) its more important to get the latest editions with the math-type books. So thats what I am trying to do. I have SOME of the books, still waiting for some to arrive, and still waiting for the funds to arrive for the last few!
I have finally gotten started on the homework. It was slow moving for me at first, I think because it has been soo long since I have done any school work at all! But I will get it ll done by Sept 2!
Does anyone know what excactly do they expect us to bring to class with us? All the textbooks? Notebooks for every subject? Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm clueless.:uhoh21:
OMG..........Joey0212 thanks for the recommendation for barnes and nobles. Anyone who has not gotten there books as of yet please try barnes and nobles (www.bn.com). In my personal opinion I found there prices to be cheaper than rittenhouse.com even for new textbooks. BARNES AND NOBLES.....CHECK IT OUT!
Just like you guys I thought Id be in a predicament the 1st day of class if I didn't have all the books and assignments done.
Trust me when I say you wont be penalized, all the grades are testing based. The assignments are helpful but only a couple will actually be collected, the blue one and the pink one I think. I sort of forgot about the assignments shortly after orientation, so don't sweat it.
The only study guide you will need is the science one. The others are a complete waste of money. Get the latter and a drug book, you'll be set. If you're good at math, a calculations book is a waste, you won't learn much.
Get the other texts for backup if you need them, the school will "baby" you if I haven't mentioned already.
And the "Journey" book is poorly written IMO, you might needed for a few definitions, but thats what google is for. Not even sure if you'll need it, since you guys will have a new human development teacher.
Amazon > BN.com...
Bloody Mary, i am 99% sure i made through Veeb. It was long way. I sweat blood to get there.I did not have my own car. I would like to thank the people of allnurses.com and mostly the veeb topic that help me with some goodadvice to get through veeb. Finally, i would like to say this, if someone like me which is a new immigrant made it through anybody that dedicates himself can do it. Although, you have to study in advance. Also, you have ask questions and show the teachers and clinical instructors your deserve it. As well as, find a way to have time to attend all the tutoring as much possible.
