VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

I know school starts in a week. I am from the Jamaica, Queens area.

Can't wait to see my fellow classmates next week! Good luck to us all!!:yeah:

Hey everyone, what should we bring the first day of school. Just 1 notebook. . . . just need a lil guidance. Thanks see you guys in approx. 10days :hpygrp:

Thanks again guys!

As far as the first day, its basically all handouts, and the notes are light, and they'll collect a couple of the summer assignments.

If you don't have them that day, no biggie, trust me...VEEB never really crossed my mind last summer.

I highly advise you get there early and choose yourself a good seat, sit on the right side of the class, if you want to get away w/ texting and all that. Avoid seats by the AC and front right/left window. This mainly applies to class A though, dunno about other classes.

As far as the boards, you mail out a form after graduation and the state will mail you a confirmation letter stating you're certified to take them. You can schedule it from there, the earliest you can take it will be October.

And about graduation, no sashes, not even for the valedictorian. They got a small trophy and $500 I believe.

Honor Roll gets a medal. I know you guys can do it, don't let your prior beliefs/knowledge influence your learning/test-taking.

Take everything for what it is, suck it up and don't complain, try to think how the teachers would think. On the tests, read the questions carefully, don't rush and study throughout the week. As far as tutoring I went once, so I can't give you an honest answer about it.

Anyways heres what you guys are working for...Best of luck to all of you.

Anyone going to veeb from Queens.

hey jade1024 I am going to veeb from Queens as well, what part of Queens are you coming from?

Specializes in skill and long term care.

Congradulation on your choice of school. I am a post graduate from the class of Aug. 1983. You can do it:wink2:. I was working full time in a nursing home and raising three girls. My baby was 7 months old when I started in Sept. 1983.The program was rough at times and many times I cried :cry:but I knew that nursing was for me. You have to love:heartbeat helping people, you have to be able to keep a smile :wink2: when the work get hard and have very good customer service. The only thing that I can say about going to VEEB is that if you decide to go for your RN you will have to take all pre-reqs before getting onto the RN program The credits that you get at VEEB are non transfers credit unless this has changed since I graduated. But again Congradulation
