VCU ABSN Summer 2017 Hopefuls

Published

Hello everyone!

I know it's somewhat early to start a topic, but the threads from the previous years have been extremely helpful to look through. Especially seeing the stats of the previous students who have been accepted.

I am currently a student at VCU who will be graduating in May, and I am majoring in Health Science. My current GPA is 3.45. I have completed all of the pre-requisites except Anatomy and Physiology, which I am currently taking at a community college. I am about to finish part 1 of A&P with an A. I am a little worried about this course because I took Anatomy at VCU and didn't finish with the grade I liked, so I am retaking it now. I was wondering if anyone knew if retaking a class could seriously impact a decision?

I have a pretty average SAT score. (I was thinking about taking the GRE in hopes of getting a high score and submitting those instead of the SAT, but I'm not sure if I should?) I have volunteer experience at the ER at MCV, and plenty of volunteer experience outside of the health field. I have also participated in several clubs. I have a CNA license, and I worked as a CNA for about a year before entering college.

I am also applying to Bon Secours, but I am researching other programs as well. I am hoping to hear from former and current students and any advice about the application process!

I really hope that's not the case, but I know of 6 people who got accepted today. I have yet to hear that someone didn't get accepted :(

Gosh 6 already. You know a lot of people who applied!

Has anyone been waitlisted? It's surprising that they only sent out the one batch of emails. I was curious if they are doing it alphabetically.

2 of them were friends, the other 4 were friends of friends! I've been asking around A LOT this morning!

Maybe we should just call and ask if what we are fearing is true or is there is some sort of method to the madness of their process of sending out notifications. I would call now but I'm at work until 5:30 :-/

I'm surprised they didn't sent it all out at once. They know people will talk!

I just got a letter! I was waitlisted #18  I'm not sure how many people typically get pulled, so if anyone from years prior knows, please share!

Congratulations! I was waitlisted as well, so do not feel bad. Hopefully we will be able to snag a spot before the program begins.

I got wait listed. Trying to stay hopeful and not get discouraged :(

What number are you guys?

What number on the wait list are y'all? I'm reading forums from previous years, and last year #18 got pulled from the wait list!

Looks like they did acceptances, now wait list, and then rejections last I guess

I'm #42.... looks like I don't have much of a chance ☹️
