Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty MSN 2023

I'm applying to the Vanderbilt University Fall 2023 Pre-specialty MSN program and I just wanted to open up a topic since I hadn't seen one yet. I would appreciate and advice, tips, FAQ, experiences, etc.

Hey guys! I just spoke with admissions and for those that applied direct entry post BSN, decisions will be out in January!

might be a good thing! now we can enjoy the holiday break! My GPA is a 3.45 so I think I might be on the lower end and it was a bit of a stretch school for me so I didn't want bad news before the holidays LOL. Fingers still crossed though and trying to manifest an acceptance!

I think if you applied pre-specialty by the priority deadline of October 15th you'll hear back before the holidays. I had emailed asking about a different thing and asked what the admissions timeline was, based on the fact that I applied pre-specialty by October 15th, and they said admissions decisions would be released before the holidays. I can't speak to anyone who applied direct entry and/or after the 10/15 deadline.

Can you clarify, had you applied to the pre-specialty MSN or the MN program? Since the MN begins in January, per their admissions, page, I assume you were told the pre-specialty-MSN decisions won't be out until January now??

The PreSpecialty program decisions are coming out this month before the holidays. The Direct Entry MSN (those with BSN) come out in January according to a previous post ^. There are two different programs that are being discussed so it’s confusing but those without BSN (PreSpecialty) find out this month but those with BSN (Direct Entry) come out in January apparently.

Thanks, yes certainly confusing as to which program each post might be referring to. I feel like some are referring to pre-specialty, while others are direct entry applicants.
