Vanderbilt Pre-Specialty MSN 2023

I'm applying to the Vanderbilt University Fall 2023 Pre-specialty MSN program and I just wanted to open up a topic since I hadn't seen one yet. I would appreciate and advice, tips, FAQ, experiences, etc.

True! Let us know what they say to your email! They have changed it up so I'm curious.

@DonnaRDH I only applied to Vandy as well. I'm not sure how much it is, so hopefully not too much! I didn't look into other programs that much so I'm not sure if there's others like it but I love how Vandy does it!

Yes I love how their program is set up too it’s such a perfect fit for me. Fingers crossed for us all?

I was in the Zoom info session and we were told that we would be notified in December if we were pre specialty and in by priority deadline. The question about being notified in February came up and the counselor said definitely December for priority pre specialty. Hopefully this will be the case. I haven’t received anything saying my application is in review though.

Ah I applied direct entry bc I’ll have my BSN so maybe I’m feb ?

Does anyone know when direct entry will find out? I know pre specialty is Dec but how about direct entry?

I would assume the same time since it was like that previous years I believe?!

I believe they said February for direct entry in the orientation. I was confused by that because I would have thought that if you are already a BSN you would be considered first?

I have an email from admissions stating “At the latest, you will hear back in February, but we are trying to push out decisions before the holidays in December.” So hopefully they’re able to get through them all by the holidays!

@jentl2002 did you happen to ask them and they emailed you or did they just email you directly? I haven’t heard anything from them since I submitted my application in October. When I log in it show’s received by all of my transcripts and recommendations but that’s all. I’m just nervous I think because this is the only school I applied to.

Not to worry. I emailed them directly about another topic regarding a prerequisite and then I followed up by asking about timeline. So I asked them directly. I, too, have not heard anything since my October application submission until I asked my question. So I think we’re in the same boat! Good luck!
