Hi all!
I just wanted to get a thread started for those who plan on applying to Vanderbilt's prespecialty (for non-nurses) MSN program. I only recently discovered this program about 2 months ago and am absolutely enamored with it! I plan to apply to 8 schools for this cycle, but Vanderbilt is at the very top of my list. I am looking into FNP, which has the distance option. I am not sure whether or not I would prefer to stay at Vanderbilt for the whole program, but I do like that there is the option.
Aside from finishing up micro this summer and taking the GRE in a month, I am fully ready to apply. Just need the application for 2011 to open up!
Anyone else?
Hey! I just got my letter today. I was accepted into the WHNP/ANP specialty. I was also accepted at Columbia and am waiting to hear from Yale. I have no idea were I would go at this point! Definitely need to do some thinking over the next week!
Question: Does anyone know off hand if Vanderbilt will accept Nutrition as an online course?
Congrats to everyone who got in! And good luck to those still waiting!
alleeme - I am sure they would accept nutrition as an online course. I talked to Vanderbilt admissions about lifespan development as an online course and I was given the go ahead. As far as I can tell most schools are cool with online courses as long as it isn't a hard science and they are from accredited programs. When I called about the online course they looked up the school for me and made sure it would be ok. If you have any doubts I would just call.
I am not pre-specialty (I will be graduating with my BSN RN this May from another university), but I learned I got accepted into the FNP program.
Also, to those still waiting, just call them and they will tell you if you were accepted or not. I still haven't received my letter, but they told me on the phone when I called and inquired that I had been admitted!
