Hi all!
I just wanted to get a thread started for those who plan on applying to Vanderbilt's prespecialty (for non-nurses) MSN program. I only recently discovered this program about 2 months ago and am absolutely enamored with it! I plan to apply to 8 schools for this cycle, but Vanderbilt is at the very top of my list. I am looking into FNP, which has the distance option. I am not sure whether or not I would prefer to stay at Vanderbilt for the whole program, but I do like that there is the option.
Aside from finishing up micro this summer and taking the GRE in a month, I am fully ready to apply. Just need the application for 2011 to open up!
Anyone else?
I feel silly...the mail just hadn't come before I left for class. Just got home with a lovely letter of acceptance for the CNM program!!!
So happy, and visiting over spring break. Anyone from the Nashville area have any suggestions of what to do/see in the city?
Best of luck to all still waiting! :)

Congratulations! I will say that breakfast at Fido in Hillsboro Village (walking distance from the School of Nursing) is very enjoyable and a good way to start getting to know the area. http://www.bongojava.com/fido.php
Pick up the Nashville Scene (the free weekly) to find out about all the cool things we'll be too busy to enjoy because we're studying! On the whole we Nashvillians are a very friendly bunch so enjoy just getting to putter around and get a feel for the place. People will probably have all kinds of ideas of things you "must see."
if you've never been to nashville before, check out broadway, which is the downtown area. walk into almost any bar down there and you'll hear AMAZING live music. great bbq at jack's bbq. if you are looking for a true southern experience, go to monell's in germantown for weekend brunch. it's AMAZING!!!!!!

Ditto on Monell's! Also a good dinner. Now I'm thinking I want that this weekend! :redbeathe
