Hi all!
I just wanted to get a thread started for those who plan on applying to Vanderbilt's prespecialty (for non-nurses) MSN program. I only recently discovered this program about 2 months ago and am absolutely enamored with it! I plan to apply to 8 schools for this cycle, but Vanderbilt is at the very top of my list. I am looking into FNP, which has the distance option. I am not sure whether or not I would prefer to stay at Vanderbilt for the whole program, but I do like that there is the option.
Aside from finishing up micro this summer and taking the GRE in a month, I am fully ready to apply. Just need the application for 2011 to open up!
Anyone else?
I GOT IN!!!!! Just got my acceptance letter for the WHNP specialty and I live in California so who knows what order they are sending them in. Geeldjfhuarjhter I am so excited, especially after being rejected from Boston College and Columbia it feels good knowing I have an option. I am still waiting to hear from MGH and Thomas Jefferson but I am leaning towards Vanderbilt.
To everyone still waiting good luck!!
I'm in as well! FNP, from California. I can't believe it!! I thought I was done for after not having an interview. When I started this application cycle, Vandy was at the top of my list, and I am really excited, but I fell in love with Yale during my interview and will make a decision after hearing from them and UCLA. Also, my financial aid reward will also play a big part. But between Vandy and Ohio State (my only other acceptance so far), I'm leaning towards Vandy as of right now!
It's a deceptively small envelope, so don't get too discouraged if you're expecting a big packet...
Good luck all!!!
Congratulations to everyone that has received good news, and good luck to those of you still waiting to hear back! I applied to the PMHNP program, and my acceptance letter came in the mail today (I live in NH)! I'm super excited! Did any of you apply to that specialty, too? Also, anyone else from the New England area planning to attend this fall? Looking forward to meeting you all at orientation!!

I know, right? I think its exciting though...and hopefully the odds work in our favor. Still nothing in my mail, but I live in Norwestern Connecticut, so maybe tomorrow. That's good to know about Seattle's cohort too (I applied there as well). I asked how big it was and the woman I spoke with said 10, including people who already have their RN, so I was unsure of how many they would accept as APNI. Stay sane as we wait till week! I'm hoping to have all my decisions by the end of this week so I can get everywhere and visit!
