  1. Hey Kate I'd also love to look at any notes or kind of list you make while apartment hunting. I'm moving there in Aug with my boyfriend but we're from California so I don't know if I'll be able to make it out there before then so apartment hunting purely by phone and internet will/has been interesting.
  2. I GOT IN!!!!! Just got my acceptance letter for the WHNP specialty and I live in California so who knows what order they are sending them in. Geeldjfhuarjhter I am so excited, especially after being rejected from Boston College and Columbia it feels good knowing I have an option. I am still waiting to hear from MGH and Thomas Jefferson but I am leaning towards Vanderbilt. To everyone still waiting good luck!!
  3. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!!! Has anyone in California or who applied for the WHNP program get a letter yet??
  4. oh yeah I guess I didn't pay attention to the part where you said you were just accepted to the FACT program haha. Congrats and thanks for responding anyway. There seems to be a bunch of forums for FACT and none for the APW program.
  5. Hey I've been looking everywhere for current forums on Jefferson's APW for fall 2011. I am still waiting to hear back. When did you turn in your application or which review period was it for? I turned mine in for the Nov. 1st deadline and they said we'd hear sometime after Jan. 1st so I'm not sure if I should have heard by now or should just keep waiting.
  6. This wait is so nerve wracking. I can't help check my email multiple times a day haha I know I just need to relax and it'll come when it comes. Good luck everyone!
  7. agreed! I was hoping to hear from at least one school before the end of Feb. but now its looking like they are all end of Feb/early March
  8. Has anyone heard back from BC yet?? Last year people started receiving emails around Jan. 28th so I'm getting really nervous. Good luck to everyone!!
  9. I was so glad I read the post about getting the financial aid packet yesterday so I didn't have a heart attack last night when I checked the mail and knew I would probably getting one soon. I think they send it to everyone too, but there was a place on some of the applications (not sure if Vanderbilt had it too) where you could click on getting more info for things like financial aid, disability services, etc.
  10. Has anyone that applied for the WHNP specialty hear anything yet or know if they do interviews for that track???
  11. Hello all! I'm also waiting to hear back from BC and MGH, the wait is so nerve wracking. Good luck to everyone and hopefully we will all be hearing things pretty soon. What specialty MSN tracks did you guys apply for? cheers!
  12. I am not a nurse, I'm doing the direct entry program so I'll do the accelerated part first to and become an RN then go directly into the WHNP specialty.. I hope!
  13. Hey guys, I know this post is a couple years old but I am in the proccess of applying to MGH and have applied to Columbia, BC and TJU for their direct entry MSN program. I am wondering for those of you that were accepted what your GPA and GRE scores were if you are willing to share. Mine are not the greatest but meet the minimum so I am getting nervous and hope I have a shot. I know I applied to really competetive school but I figure shoot for the best and if it doesn'r work out I'll figure out something else. Thanks!
  14. Just finishing up applying, I know I'm a little behind but I didn't find out about their program when I started looking into schools. I've also applied/applying to a few other schools. I'm hoping to to the WHNP program. I'm pretty nervous because my GPA and GRE scores are only a bit above the minimum so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my letters of rec and essays will boost me up a bit. Can't believe it's november and we still have to wait until march to hear anything ughhh. Best of luck to everyone
  15. Hi everyone, I'm new to allnurses but I have read some threads here and there while doing research about different programs but have never posted. I graduated with a BS in health science but because I wasn't sure about nursing yet I am currently taking prerequisites at a community college. I am hoping to apply to a few different direct-entry msn programs and want to specialize in Women's Health NP. As of now I am looking at Vanderbilt, Boston Bollege, MGH Institute of Health Professionals and maybe Thomas Jefferson and Regis College. I haven't started the application process yet but I need to start working on my essays and getting my letters of rec. I was hoping to get some feedback or advice on a few different things. Anyone who has been accepted into msn programs have tips for a good application essay? I'm really stressing about the essays, I feel like I used to be a good writer back in high school but I have lost so many of those skills it seems over the years without having English classes, I could really use some tips. I graduated with a 3.26 GPA, how competitive is that considered and also what is considered a good score on the GRE? How hard is it to be accepted? I am taking them for the first time in a couple weeks. Anyone have any feed back on any of the programs I listed above? Thanks!
