Hi all!
I just wanted to get a thread started for those who plan on applying to Vanderbilt's prespecialty (for non-nurses) MSN program. I only recently discovered this program about 2 months ago and am absolutely enamored with it! I plan to apply to 8 schools for this cycle, but Vanderbilt is at the very top of my list. I am looking into FNP, which has the distance option. I am not sure whether or not I would prefer to stay at Vanderbilt for the whole program, but I do like that there is the option.
Aside from finishing up micro this summer and taking the GRE in a month, I am fully ready to apply. Just need the application for 2011 to open up!
Anyone else?
Oh my gosh, you all are killing me here!! I didn't get a letter yet, and now my stomach is in knots! And no mail on Monday!! ARRRRRGGHHHHH!!!
To all who got in, CONGRATULATIONS!! To all who didn't or got wait listed, I am thinking of you and hoping that everything works out for you in the end. :)
I had my letter in the mail today as well. I applied to the PNP-primary care specialty. It didn't have good news or bad news.....I got waitlisted. However they said their waitlist sometimes doesn't clear until July. Which I've been accepted to Emory's program which starts in May. So if the waitlist cleared in June/July then I wouldn't be able to go to Vandy. Hopefully I'll hear something before May cause Vandy is actually my #1 choice. But Emory is a great school as well and I'm grateful that I got accepted somewhere.
I got my letter in the mail yesterday and was accepted to the PNP program! I literally was jumping up and down and threw my backpack off my back so violently, i may have broken my computer!! In case this helps for all of you who are still waiting anxiously, i live in Nashville, so they may just be doing regionally located people right now.
for all of those who did not get accepted, or waitlisted- keep your heads up. i know how devastating it is to receive that letter. i've received them from two of the schools that i applied to. I know it is hard to be patient, and T-Dash, I totally feel your frustration. I, too, got into Emory and did not realize until last week that it started in May. I was completely panicked, since for their requirements, I still have two classes I needed to take by the first week of May. If I were you, I'd give it until March 17th (Vandy's deposit deadline) and then contact admissions explaining your situation, since it is pretty unique (Emory is the only school that starts that early, so I would definitely make that known to them) and hopefully they can give you a better sense of whether of not there are any open spots due to someone not submitting their deposit.
Good luck to everyone who is waiting to hear!!!!
