Vanderbilt Pre-specialty Fall 2011

Published

Hi all!

I just wanted to get a thread started for those who plan on applying to Vanderbilt's prespecialty (for non-nurses) MSN program. I only recently discovered this program about 2 months ago and am absolutely enamored with it! I plan to apply to 8 schools for this cycle, but Vanderbilt is at the very top of my list. I am looking into FNP, which has the distance option. I am not sure whether or not I would prefer to stay at Vanderbilt for the whole program, but I do like that there is the option.

Aside from finishing up micro this summer and taking the GRE in a month, I am fully ready to apply. Just need the application for 2011 to open up!:lol2:

Anyone else?

I had my letter in the mail today as well. I applied to the PNP-primary care specialty.

It didn't have good news or bad news.....I got waitlisted. However they said their waitlist sometimes doesn't clear until July. Which I've been accepted to Emory's program which starts in May. So if the waitlist cleared in June/July then I wouldn't be able to go to Vandy. Hopefully I'll hear something before May cause Vandy is actually my #1 choice. But Emory is a great school as well and I'm grateful that I got accepted somewhere.

Hello all . I wish everyone warmest congratulations. I got my letter as well today, and I was wait-listed for NMW. I am honestly, overwhelmingly devastated. :(

Oh my gosh, you all are killing me here!! I didn't get a letter yet, and now my stomach is in knots! And no mail on Monday!! ARRRRRGGHHHHH!!!

To all who got in, CONGRATULATIONS!! To all who didn't or got wait listed, I am thinking of you and hoping that everything works out for you in the end. :)

LOL agreed @ SyndeyJo1!

I applied to anp/gnp specialty track...and i really cant find anyone who applied to that track. I live in Oregon, so it might take awhile for things to get here =]

I got my letter in the mail yesterday and was accepted to the PNP program! I literally was jumping up and down and threw my backpack off my back so violently, i may have broken my computer!! In case this helps for all of you who are still waiting anxiously, i live in Nashville, so they may just be doing regionally located people right now.

for all of those who did not get accepted, or waitlisted- keep your heads up. i know how devastating it is to receive that letter. i've received them from two of the schools that i applied to. I know it is hard to be patient, and T-Dash, I totally feel your frustration. I, too, got into Emory and did not realize until last week that it started in May. I was completely panicked, since for their requirements, I still have two classes I needed to take by the first week of May. If I were you, I'd give it until March 17th (Vandy's deposit deadline) and then contact admissions explaining your situation, since it is pretty unique (Emory is the only school that starts that early, so I would definitely make that known to them) and hopefully they can give you a better sense of whether of not there are any open spots due to someone not submitting their deposit.

Good luck to everyone who is waiting to hear!!!!

Still waiting. In Nashville here so hopefully I'll get a response as soon as possible. Anybody else here apply for ACNP and hear anything? The anxiety will turn to desperation soon!

I'm already at the point of desperation!! I applied to the WHNP/ANP program. Sounds like all CNM and PNP that have heard so far, am I right?

Just got my letter in the mail today... AND I GOT IN! Soo overwhelmed with excitement! Feels really good after suffering a rejection from Columbia =\. Anybody have any idea on how on-campus housing works?

Thanks :)

Trisha

There is no on-campus housing as far as I know...

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!!! Has anyone in California or who applied for the WHNP program get a letter yet??
