I just wanted to get a thread started for those who plan on applying to Vanderbilt's prespecialty (for non-nurses) MSN program. I only recently discovered this program about 2 months ago and am absolutely enamored with it! I plan to apply to 8 schools for this cycle, but Vanderbilt is at the very top of my list. I am looking into FNP, which has the distance option. I am not sure whether or not I would prefer to stay at Vanderbilt for the whole program, but I do like that there is the option.
Aside from finishing up micro this summer and taking the GRE in a month, I am fully ready to apply. Just need the application for 2011 to open up!
I've been reading the site for a while but just joined. I called and got the reply of "a few days." That's about as vague as the email saying we'd get letters over the next few weeks, but days are shorter than weeks! The anxiety is killing me. I am a Nashvillian so when we get our acceptance letters, I can answer Nashville questions to the best of my ability.
And I refuse to call it a "decision letter." I'm using the power of positive thinking and calling it an "acceptance letter."

@NashTNguy: Please let us know as soon as you receive your letter. You'll prolly get your letter a day or 2 prior to those of us out-of-state. By the way...what specialty did you apply to?
Got my letter on Wednesday... ACCESS DENIED! Better luck to the rest of you that applied to the FNP specialty.... I think I got mine so early because I had all of my materials in by October 1st.
So sorry to hear that, crazy//beautiful. I am suddenly in a panic. I just checked my application status, and it says they haven't received my transcripts or my GRE scores!! Does anyone else's application say this?
Wow, congrats, maduro! Where do you live, if you don't mind me asking? Oh, and can you tell us the due date for securing your spot?
I hate to say it, but I fear that I may be denied since I wasn't contacted for an interview, but I haven't received word from them since the standard "complete file, now in review" email. I live in CA so it will probably take a while for anything to get to me...
maduro, who did you apprentice with? i've been a doula for 11 years and have apprenticed and been involved w homebirth many of those. debi t apprenticed me a bunch and was there for my 2 kids...
