Nursing Students School Programs
Published Jun 17, 2015
Hello! I was wondering if anyone was thinking about applying for Vanderbilt's nurse residency program for summer 2016. For those who have applied to other terms or gone through the residency: any advice?!

Hey guys! I'm a little late to the post, but I just interviewed for the Nurse Residency Program Acute Medicine Track a few days ago! Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone that has interviews coming up :)

I plan to submit my application to the winter program! How were the interviews? I'm so worried about that part of the entire process! What type of questions did they ask? I've never been in a nursing style type interview.

Google STAR interview questions. They follow that format. :)
Just got an email that all the ICUs will have a new start date of July 18, instead of August 1. Peds, psych and adult acute will still start Aug 1.

I was so excited when I received that email thinking it was a decision!! Oh well, just a few more weeks I guess
I know right. I've received one offer already and am anxiously awaiting another but Vandy is what I want! I can wait til interviews are over and I can move into the next phase.

Same! I knew it was probably too soon, but my heart still jumped into my throat! I'm hoping we'll hear in about 2 weeks, so fingers crossed!

Hey guys!
Just found this post, I'm graduating at the end of April and interviewed for NICU earlier in March. Very anxiously waiting to hear back...anyone else interview for NICU? Maybe I wasn't as prepared as I should have been, but I actually thought the interview was pretty intense. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, but the questions were definitely not easy.
I interviewed for NICU! I thought the questions were definitely challenging, but I did a lot of interview prepwork on my own to practice scenario-based answers. So the interview itself was still tough because you obviously don't know what specifically they're going to ask, but I at least felt familiar with the general format.
