Vanderbilt MSN 2020

Updated:   Published

I just attended Vanderbilt's fall open house for the 2020 year and I'm really excited to be applying! I'm hoping to connect with other Vandey applicants so we can offer support and info along this process. I am applying to the post BSN dual CNM/ FNP program.

Will it change from submitted to Accepted for example?

I would think that it should.

Hey everyone. Just applied to Vanderbilts PMHNP program yesterday (on my birthday!) I hoping to hear good news next month!

Haha truth! I applied in November and am being considered for the 2nd round (rolling) and won’t hear back until early March. So discouraged knowing that the spots will mostly be filled by then, but trying to be hopeful.

Hey Amber, I applied mid November as well. I have someone on the inside, and was told that 2nd round of reviews started early January, and we’ll likely hear back in February as well. Despite what you might hear here, the priority deadline is important, but it’s not the be all, end all. Good luck!

Don’t feel discouraged. I knew someone who applied late December of 2018 and was still accepted. I feel they’ll look at the quality of the candidate.

Hiii! I think its important for us all to stay optimistic. I attended the information session later last year and we were told the part they really used to weed out applicants is the applicant's understanding of the scope of practice for his or her specialty. So for example if you are in the family NP track, you cant write that you only want to work with children or only adults as it makes them think you dont understand that family practitioners work with populations across the lifespan. Also for what its worth, last year 668 people applied with the BA/BS non nursing degrees and 433 were admitted out of which 158 enrolled. So that is something to really be hopeful about. We got this!

Anyone else’s anxiety out of control waiting for February??? ?

Has anyone else’s application still says submitted instead of completed? I have all green checks on my application, nothing else to submit, but it has been still saying submitted.

I have had my application done since 10/10/2019 and it still says submitted on it.
