Vanderbilt MSN 2020

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Updated:   Published

I just attended Vanderbilt's fall open house for the 2020 year and I'm really excited to be applying! I'm hoping to connect with other Vandey applicants so we can offer support and info along this process. I am applying to the post BSN dual CNM/ FNP program.

Specializes in Psychiatric Nurse.

I was waitlisted for upcoming PMHNP Fall 2020 cohort. I know the waitlist paperwork said the waitlist usually doesn't clear until July. Does this mean we will get a definite yes or no before then? Or we could just be hanging out until a few days before start date still hoping to get in? Any information is appreciated!

I was taken off the waitlist previously at the tail end of June. Between being waitlisted and taken off of the waitlist, I heard nothing. Getting onboarded with only three weeks to meet all the deadlines was definitely hectic but the compliance officers worked with me and made it happen.

This may be a weird question, but when you got accepted did you receive an email stating, “You have been accepted.” I just received an email saying “For admitted students.” I don’t know what to think of this. And yes I applied late, didn’t really think I would get in. It was for the Nursing Informatics program.

Specializes in Women’s health.

I received an email telling me to log into the application page because there was an update. The acceptance letter was posted there.

Hey everyone! I just got accepted into the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner specialty program! Would love to hear feedback from current students about this program!

Has anyone who was waitlisted for PMHNP heard any news?

Hello,

Has anyone started this program that could provide me with insight on what the typical schedule looks like for the pre-speciality program?

For those who got admitted into the direct entry pathway, even for parttime, and actually attended from OMTA... Did you have to travel to Vanderbilt in Fall 2020 for the block weekends? Just wondering if they’re gonna expect us to travel from our different areas of the country for these block weekends this fall due to covid. I’ll be hailin’ from Oregon!

Fall 2020, due to COVID,  they did not allow any blocks in person however, blocks are usually in person so if COVID numbers are such that they feel in-person can be safe then blocks will more than likely be in-person again.

Nice, thanks for the info!! Are they having in person block-weekends this semester?

Hi! I am not sure of your specialty and I am not sure if the block schedules are all different. But I just checked the fall 2021 block schedule for AGPCNP and saw that for the month of August, the blocks are online and then the blocks for the subsequent months are coded as "in person" starting in September 2021. To be fair the schedule states that it could be subject to change. Hope this helps. Also, I am not sure if you have received your Vandi Net ID and password info as yet but you do have access to those schedules with your credentials. All the very best to you.

I haven't received my Net ID yet! Should be soon ? I spoke with Leslie Hopkins the AGPCNP program director last Friday and this Fall appears to all be online for the part-time cohort, one intensive/block weekend in Spring 2022, Summer 2022 is all online, 2 block weekends for Fall 2022, none in Spring 2023 due to an online course and then clinicals, and then 1-2 visits for Summer 2023 depending on if you go to Nashville in person for presentations and pinning! Obviously things can change, but the program appears to be changing and students seem satisfied! This is for the direct entry (already have a BSN), part-time group.
