Vanderbilt MSN 2016

Published

I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.

YOU GUYS! For CNM peeps, a current CNM student told me she overheard professors talking and they are planning on sending out decisions SOON. Like next week. Of course this isn't fact or set in stone but I told her the sliver of hope is so helpful! She also said that she knows the professors were really impressed with this years applicants, sounds like a competitive bunch! Good luck to everyone! Fingers crossed we hear back soon!!

I don't know if this necessarily means anything, but the admitted students link on the school of nursing page was working last week & isn't working now.. so maybe they're updating the links in anticipation of sending out acceptances?? I'm looking for any positive signs at this point, the wait is killing me!

Interesting! I just went and tried the same link and had the same result. What sort of info did the link contain before?

Admitted student checklist, housing resources, blackboard links, etc.

Hmmm...maybe it is a positive sign! Fingers crossed :))

Hello all! I know that I am late to the party but its good to know that I am not the only one that is struggling to breathe/ losing sleep over acceptance letters. I'm sorry if I missed it, but is there anyone else that is applying to the PNP program? Since Nov application I have been declaring acceptance to the universe so will hopefully see the fruits of that labor soon! One other question, does anyone know if you have to find your own preceptor if you opt for the out of area? Cant wait to celebrate with everyone when they come in, hopefully VERY soon. :)

Hi anchordown. I found my own preceptors. When I had my interview they seemed a little surprised that I already had my preceptors lined up. We have finally made it to February! Not very long now!!! Wishing everyone luck.

thanks that's fantastic! are you going for PNP too?

Just heard from the school I thought was going to be last (they said mid to late February). Now Vanderbilt is my last holdout. Come on Vandy!!!! I hate waiting. :-)

Yes. Pmhnp, direct entry.

well that is awesome, I have applied to the PNP-PC and pretty excited about it!

Okay gang, I have an update: I called Admissions to see if there was any update on the status of my application...Same antsy question as always and I figured I'd just get the blanket February 15th answer again.

Well, as it turns out I was passed through to the Assistant Director in the Admissions Office and she said that they were planning on releasing some Admissions Letters in "a couple of days". Eeeeee!! Looks like we will hopefully be hearing back this week.
