Vanderbilt MSN 2016

Published

I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.

I hope so! Is anyone else doing the ASN-MSN track for AGACNP (Intensivist)? I wonder if they hold a number of spots for those students or just how ever the chips fall? Anyone know?

Hey Brael1n so I applied to the direct entry AG-ACNP Intensivist program and from what I have been told sometime within the first semester you will actually be interviewed and they will make final decisions on that particular program. Check this out it will help Address Book | Registrar

Also has anyone heard anything else regarding when the acceptance and denial letters will be sent? The wait is seriously killing me.

I've heard a couple times from them that official letters will be sent out mid-Feb. Whether or not they will be sent out any earlier than that, I don't know, but that is the timeline I have heard.

Sml14, I also heard that it will be mid-february.

Has anyone heard anything yet? I was hoping that at least one specialty would start making announcements by now.

Nope! Was told mid February and I'd imagine they stay pretty true to their schedule.

No and I'm dying!!!!!

I haven't even heard back from my track (psych np) in terms of interview so I'm guessing that's not a good sign

Earlier in the thread I heard late January to Mid February and that all specialties will be notified at the same time. The wait is definitely challenging, but I just keep counting down the weeks. Wishing everyone well. We will hear soon!

Good luck to all of you who applied for the Fall 2016 entry at VUSN! I guess finding out about acceptance into the program varies in time frame from year to year. My AG-ACNP cohort got lucky, because we learned about our acceptance in mid-December of 2014 for the Fall 2015 entry. I'm doing the two year part-time ACNP program, so I will be seeing those of you admitted to the full-time/one year direct-entry ACNP program for Fall 2016. Let me know if you guys have any questions! :)

SweetINFJ, I think that it's precisely the fact that over the last several years, candidates have received staggered acceptance notices that makes it so incredibly frustrating to us this year! Keeping our sanity until mid-February is going to be a difficult task.

Just a few more weeks- we can do this! Best wishes to all!
