Vanderbilt MSN 2015

Published

Hello,

I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!

Best regards,

Waitlisted here as well. Does anyone know if they have a time table for releasing waitlisted decisions? I know the deadline for deposits just passed.

My understanding is that people are taken off the waitlist as spaces become available. The original notice mentioned that it can be as late as July, if I remember correctly.

For anyone waitlisted for psych--it seems like there are a few of you, so I thought I'd drop in and say hi--just letting you know I will be giving up my spot at Vanderbilt now that I've been admitted to Yale. Vanderbilt seems really wonderful, but I am from CT and want to stay here. It sucks they make you put down the deposit on VU school so early, huh? Anyway, congratulations and good luck to everyone! I'm so looking forward to being a nurse, aren't you? :-) All the best.

Did anyone attend the Open House this past weekend at Vanderbilt? If so, what were your thoughts about the school/program?

I wasn't able to, but I"d love to hear people's thoughts.

I am going to decline my offer (I just need to pull the trigger). So someone on the CNM waitlist will be getting happy news. :)

Hey DoulaMe, (@DoulaMe)

I can't send a private message since I just registered this evening. I wanted to ask about how you ultimately decided on your school. I have seen your messages in different forums that I have been reading. I am debating accepting Vanderbilt, Yale and Columbia. My friend is in a similar situation. I appreciated the personal interview with Yale and the consistent messages too.

Not sure however with the three year length, that it's in New Haven, not on the main campus. But, with Vanderbilt I heard people haven't liked the learning format sometimes (or the travel portion).

Basically I am wondering if you have learned any of the details of the programs. i.e. how often you are in class in Yale along with clinical (I haven't found that on the site)?; if Vanderbilt is more online or not? If you know that would be great!

But, mainly how you yourself decided. Lol. Thank you. Congratulations as well. :)

I received a notification that I was accepted into the PMHNP program TODAY (eek - not sure why so late, I wasn't waitlisted and I never was called for an interview) - however, while waiting for a decision from Vanderbilt, I started taking courses towards my BSN at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. I could essentially have my BSN from SIUE in December of this year.

Do you think Vanderbilt will let me transfer this over, and I wouldn't have to do the RN pre-speciaty semesters and jump right in to the PMNP program?

I am still deciding between PNP schools. Any idea when they will release financial aid packages? I see Spring or April, but am hoping sooner. Also for those who went to the admitted students weekend, any more information you can provide me about the school that you did not know before?

wanderlust09- you way you have been waitlisted for FNP for which start date? I have applied for the fall 2015 start date and have not heard yet. I was told they are still reviewing applications.

I just got an email for the PMHNP entry program for a phone interview next week. Anybody have an idea of my chances being so late in the game?

If they are taking the time to interview you, I think you have a good shot of getting in. Good luck!

FNPhereIcome, I'm wait listed for the Fall 2015 pre-specialty class.
