Vanderbilt MSN 2015

Published

Hello,

I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!

Best regards,

When do people have to pay deposits to confirm they are going to Vandy? I am waitlisted but after checking with Emory and Duke, Vandy is looking like a good option for me since it is totally billed at the graduate level. (And cheaper and shorter). Anyway, I have paid a deposit at Emory but class starts in May so I'm kind of in a bind and would like to know from Vandy.

Specializes in NICU, Public Health.

I had to pay my deposit by February 15th for FNP, but I'm doing only the MSN portion as I'm already an RN.

Had my interview with Vandy on Monday for the PMHNP program. Anyone know how long the wait will be before a decision is made?

Specializes in Crna.

Im thinking of applying to the Emergency nurse practitioner program at vandy. I dont have great GPA, havent taken GRE yet, but im sure ill be average, but i have a great work resume, including ccrn, and cen. Does anyone know how it is weighted in terms of getting in? Anyone have any advice?

Im wondering if i should apply to the fnp or just the acute care nurse practitioner program instead of the ER NP.

Thanks for any advice.

I had my interview the same day and I heard back today!

For those who were wait listed: have you heard anything from Vanderbilt? I'm wondering if any of the specialties have started extending offers to wait listed applicants...hopefully there will be movement soon!

I'm waitlisted for Pre-specialty FNP and I haven't heard anything yet either. I'm so nervous and anxious. I wonder if the pre-specialty desposits were due in February as well. If so, seems like they would have extended offers to some people by now, right? Anyone know?

I'm waitlisted as well for prespecialty PMHNP. Haven't heard anything from Vandy since being notified I'm on the waitlist. Do ya'll think there's a good chance this year for getting in from the waitlists? I think prespecialty PMHNP only takes 40 students so I'm looking into alternate routes.

Just got in off the waiting list Thursday for the pre-specialty PMHNP program! Don't give up hope!

Hi @KP84! I will be starting the ACNP speciality this fall and wanted to connect with someone who has gone through the program for advice. For example, which books will I need and what is your perspective on the structure of the program. I already have my BSN degree. Thanks so much!

ktt4,

You can email me and I'll do my best to answer your questions! I created a fake email address that you can use. [email protected]

KP84:)

In off the waitlist for CNM/FNP!!! Beyond excited!

(For future applicants who are reading this year's thread: They really can call you up to the last minute. Don't decline your waitlist offers!)
