Vanderbilt MSN 2015

Published

Hello,

I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!

Best regards,

Alexevans21 I applied to 6 schools. Vanderbilt and Emory for their Emergency NP programs, University of Texas Houston for their FNP (with the ability to apply for an emergency concentration once admitted), and Columbia, Duke, and Winona (in Minnesota) for Acute Care NP.

I had an interview (which I opted to do in person) with Duke and they said Feb 16th, but a few days later we received an email saying February 18th decisions would be posted. I believe that's for all of their Master's programs (might not apply for ABSN). Where else did you apply?

Oh ok!And I applied and Vandy, Duke, Emory, and Florida. Emory is the only one I have heard back from yet, and I got in there. I would expect Vanderbilt to be soon, and Duke/Florida to be in March.

Hey all, I'm new here to this thread. I heard back from Vanderbilt yesterday and I have been placed on the waitlist for Psych pre-specialty. :/ Crossing my fingers I get taken off of it and best of luck to everyone else!

Specializes in NICU.

I heard today from Vandy and have been admitted to the NNP program. I heard from Emory a little over a week ago. So now I just have to decide and pay my deposit. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!!

I found out I have been wait listed for the FNP pre-speciality program. Here's to hoping there will be movement on the list--Vandy's my number one choice! Fingers crossed for those of you waiting to hear back!

Hi everyone!

I am currently choosing between Vandy and Columbia but am having a hard time figuring out the Psych placement. I've been hearing different things -- some saying it's a distance learning program, others noting that you have to relocate 2 hours away. That being said, my acceptance letter stated that we would need to be within commuting distance of Nashville for the entirety of the program (making me think it wouldn't be a distance learning program). Does anyone else better understand how the second year will go? I actually am moving from up North and my husband is staying put so I'd prefer to have a distance learning program and get a clinical placement closer to home if that was a possibility. Any info greatly appreciated!!

I am going to decline my offer (I just need to pull the trigger). So someone on the CNM waitlist will be getting happy news. :)

Hi All! Just wondering if anyone knows the chance you be accepted to the AG-ACNP program if you apply late? I know they take applications all year. I'm a little late to the game but would like to get in for this fall. I hope to take the GRE soon. Just didn't know if it was even worth my time (and my references) to rush to get everything in ASAP or just wait and apply for the 216 program!

Hi all!

Just got notified that I am on the wait list for CNM fall 2015. Anyone else wait listed?

I was notified a couple weeks ago I was waitlisted for Psych.

I'm also on the waitlist. Pretty tough competition from what I understand. I called to ask about my chances of being admitted and someone in admissions explained that they don't rank their waitlist, they re-evaluate applications when a space becomes available. Good luck to you. :)

Shelby,

I called to ask about re-applying or switching to AG-ACNP from FNP (which I was accepted for). They told me in no uncertain terms that I was SOL, and that I could either attempt to switch after one year (I'm pre-specialty) if someone drops out and there is a space, or re-apply next year.

I think they are full and have been, but if you are already an RN it is probably worth calling to check as the situation might be different for you.

Good luck.
