Hello,
I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!
Best regards,
Anybody heard anything about FNP yet? I'm getting anxious lol I'm ready to know what my options are and if I get to visit Nashville soon or not! Haha. I just hate calling, just in case they are taking notes about who annoys and bugs them the most
FNP has sent out some decisions, but from what I understand they will continue sending them out over a period of a few weeks.
I definitely think you are right. I did pretty crappy. I studied for and took the GRE in 2010 during my winter break in nursing school and did not take it very seriously. I wasn't even applying to schools at the time, just wanted to have it out of the way for when I did apply (back then most schools were asking for it). It was a different scoring system then but my score came out to be combined 1100. At the time Vanderbilt was requesting a minimum of 1000 so I thought phew at least I made it past the min. My writing score was awful though, 3.5. When I asked people in Vanderbilt admissions if I'd be okay they said the same thing, that my grades and experience would outweigh the GRE score. I am definitely bummed but honestly I feel that this is for the best. The price of tuition at Vanderbilt plus the cost of travel from DC so many times during the program had me really worried. The reason why Vanderbilt was so appealing for me was that it would only take 1 year, but at the same time that was worrisome too! I wasn't really sure I'd be able to handle such an intense program. So in a way I'm sort of relieved. It would have been nice to have had it as an option though
