Vanderbilt MSN 2015

Published

Hello,

I am applying for the MSN program in '15, due in December. I was wondering if anyone knew how much weight the GRE holds, in regards to being competitive? I am a little nervous about my scores not being competitive. Any advice will help!

Best regards,

Emory found out yesterday, and I was accepted for their FNP program. I applied there a whole month after Vandy. Wish I knew something from Vandy now. I wanna know all my options!

Congratulations!! It's gotta be any day now...we're past the 14th "final meeting" and if you got into Emory I imagine you stand a good chance of getting good news from Vandy. Hopefully they update some of us before the long weekend.

Congrats Alex!

I'm in for CNM. SO shocked. I was notified via phone.

Pretty late in the afternoon. I was at a birth so I did not squeal. LOL. I just stepped out into the hall for a couple minutes.

Here is how it works: If you are Pre-Specialty (not an RN yet) you attend for three semesters straight (Fall, Spring, Summer) and must be a local student living in or very near Nashville. They have class and clinicals most days of the week. After that year, you take your boards and become a RN. Then, the following Fall, you start your specialty year and will be mixed in with students who already are RNs. During the specialty year classes are held in the block format, meaning there is a block of 4-5 days three times a semester when all students in the cohort attend class, labs, etc. together. In addition, there are classes each week that are streamed online. For those classes, distance students watch at their convenience and local students usually attend in person. Those classes are usually two days a week or so. Because they are streamed online, there is usually the option of having local students watch them online as well if needed, but they prefer local students to attend those classes live.

Does that make sense?

I'm in for PMHNP!

Hey hey!!! Congratulations!!

congrats snoozyd!! how/when did they notify you?

They informed me via email with a link to my application. I received the email at 11:30 AM EST. I was honestly expecting it to be a denial since they've been doing lots of calls for accepted students.

They must be about to tell the rest of the PMHNP-ers! Fingers crossed for you guys

Congratulations snoozyd!
