Hey guys!
Vandy's application opens tomorrow! I am so anxious to start the application. There is a Pre-Specialty thread already started so I want to start this one for direct entry. Post questions, comments, experiences, and anything else. Good luck everyone! You've got this!

Nope! I called and was told the same thing....patiently waiting. What program are you waiting to hear from?

Fingers crossed that CRNA works out for you! I am waiting to hear about my app to the AGACNP program so you give me hope that there may still be spots ?
Something I would like to humbly ask is, why are there so many RNs applying to this entry level MSN program? The Entry Level MSN program is for those with an unrelated Non-bachelor's degree that allows the student to sit for the NCLEX after the first year? Maybe there is some crossroads with the program where those who hold an RN are joining for the latter part of the program (year two) with just their ADN? Can someone please explain?

There is ASN to MSN. You can have an ASN and apply but will spend a full year doing work equivalent to the BSN, THEN bridge to the MSN specialty year without actually getting a BSN. These nurses have taken the NCLEX already.
The prespecialty route is for students with no nursing background at all. A different degree. Your first year is an Accelerated BSN program where you sit for your NCLEX then proceed to your your second year into the specialty for which you applied.
Then there are those like me who are nurses and have a BSN and apply for “direct entry” into the specialty of choice (for me, I am admitted into the AGPCNP program). My program would have been one year, full time in its entirety but I like working and chose to do it part time ?
Hope that helps!
@FuturePNP21 That is great news. Congrats. I am on the waitlist for the PreSpecialty FNP program. Did you hear that you were taken off of the waitlist via phone or email? I keep checking my spam folder. ? A girl can dream!

Thank you! I can’t wait to start. Through my email, it said I had an update. I then logged into my Vanderbilt account and had a new letter posted.

Hi....I think it's all about competitiveness. I think that they have the applicants who are awaiting decisions and the waitlisted applicants and once a spot opens up they go back to the list and make their decision.
I don't think that the waitlisted applicants are necessarily prioritized over the other applicants. I remember someone saying they asked about whether waitlist applicants are ranked. The response was similar to a denial that the applicants are ranked and the process is the admissions teams goes through the process of reevaluating those applications that are vying for the spot.
I definitely think that by next Monday we are going to hear about acceptances....maybe not as much denials. Also, some students accept and pay the deposit then last minute decide they will not attend.
I hope you get a favorable answer soon.
