Vanderbilt 2021 Direct Entry

Hey guys!

Vandy's application opens tomorrow! I am so anxious to start the application. There is a Pre-Specialty thread already started so I want to start this one for direct entry. Post questions, comments, experiences, and anything else. Good luck everyone! You've got this!

OMG guys. We are sooo close. Last year I believe they released decisions at the end of the second full week in February. I hope it’s the same for us because if not it’s going to be a longgg weekend ?

Hey y’all, they told me last month that we would find out in the 3rd week of February. Just FYI.

Oh wow, thank you for sharing this information ?

Of course, I won't be surprised if it gets pushed back a week or so. I feel like historically, the end of February is always hectic for decisions.

I hope they don’t make us make a decision quick if we do get accepted. Another school I applied to hasn’t even had their application deadline yet and I’m torn between schools for financial reasons.

I found this! Very informative. Also this next week is going to be grueling. I am so hoping for good news. Am opting for part time considering I have a little one!

LOL the NW is supposed to have a crazy snow storm coming in (not typical), and I am off all weekend. That plus covid quarantine, plus no work is going to make me feel sooooooo anxious all weekend! I was reading the 2020 thread and many folks found out on vday! Which was a Friday on the second week of February last year. Maybe with some luck, we may hear this Friday after 5pm like they did. I heard you can get a “Status Update” notification in our application portal. Driving me nuts!

They said during the open house a few months ago that they release decisions on valentine's day.

I just called the Vanderbilt SoN to figure out when they’re releasing MSN and certificate admissions decisions. I was told that the priority deadline applicants should know by the end of next week (Feb 19) by the latest and to keep an eye on my email. Faculty are making the final decisions on the people who applied by October 15 and then everyone else will find out not too long after that.

Does anyone know how they are doing the pre-specialty year (or any part of the program) since COVID restrictions have been implemented? I am wondering if classes/lectures are online and then clinicals are all in person?

Anyone else constantly refreshing their email to see if the decisions came out today!? Just me!? I know they said next week but also saw that last year they were released the Friday of Valentine’s Day!
