Valencia Nursing Program 2016

Published

Hey everyone,

I recently submitted my Nursing, Traditional application on May 11th! I have met all the requirements for the program for the past 2 years! However, I decided to hold off until my daughter started kindergarten. (I also have a two year old EEK!) I am so excited to hear back already!

For previous applicants/students: How long did you wait to hear back from them? How is the program overall? Is there any advice you'd like to give? Anyone remember or know what the first semester's schedule is like? Also, since I have completed my A.A, financial aid is saying that I have too many hours and need to submit an appeal form. Anyone else have to do this? Or, is there any scholarships that I can look into? Any advice would be a great deal of help!

Ahh, I'm so excited and nervous!!

Thanks so much rrivera!

Jserrano97, it awhile for mine to change. Keep checking it should change soon! Next step, is to try and go through the SAP appeal process. Let me know how that goes for some of you! I was one semester away from receiving my Bachelors in Supervison and Management in health care administration, then I got my acceptance letter from Valencia and said BYE! lol So I have way too many credit hours that is denying me for financial aid :(

Okay Abarreto, thanks, I was just getting worried there! Yes, I turned in my SAP documents yesterday, they said it could take up to 8 weeks to approve :( but that more than likely I would hear back before that through ATLAS. Have you turned yours in? Ive already started the Castle Branch items too!

Did you have to get the education checklist plan reviewed by an adviser before submitting it? I want to go turn in mine today to get the ball rolling on that one.

Yes, you will need to go to Life Map on Atlas and print that out, take it to health advising and have her sign off on it, then type up the appeal and make sure you address all the bullet points and lastly complete the SAP worksheet( the doc where it gives you the instructions) then turn it all in. Hope this helps.

Jserrano, did you or anyone else attend the CPR class yesterday? I was just wondering how it went. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! :)

Abarreto,

I attended one on Saturday morning, not through Valencia though, it was through All Care Health Services (its on the sheet that Health Advising gave us), the class was amazing but its 10 bucks more. Valencias classes were booked out until August. I figured its worth the extra 10 bucks and also get it out of the way sooner. I recommend looking into them.

Awesome! One more thing checked off of your list! I am registered for the class at Valencia's west campus on July 16th. I picked up the class the same day I received my acceptance letter.

Hello everyone, congratulations to those who got in! I have a question, when you replied back to the acceptance email with your name, vid, and phone number did you receive an email after that saying they received your reply or an email with any further information?

Hi KMUCF,

No response back. You can always email advising and just double check they received it, that's what I did. Hope this helps.

Hey, no response back here either. I'm glad I'm not alone!

I never got a response back either! I made sure to send my reply twice (lol) just in case ;) Quick question for those of you who are or have taken a CPR course: approximately how long does it take? Also what is the course like? Do we get our CPR card right away? Thanks!
