Valencia Fall 2019

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello everyone! I can’t seem to find a thread for FALL 2019 for Valencia college. So I decided to make one and see when others have put their applications in and all that good stuff.

Hi guys!

I applied for Fall 2019, for both night and the daytime program. Really hoping I don’t get waitlisted and if I do hopefully I can start by Spring ‘20.

How is everyone dealing with the anxiety? I received an email that they are reviewing my apps for Fall 2019.

Hello ! I’m going crazy I’m trying to stop thinking about it and not check my email until at least June ! I applied for night so we shall see I would like to get in for fall but I’d be fine with spring as well !

Hey Tricia, did you apply for only Osceola campus or only daytime? There are so many variables in play so I’m wondering if one program fills up quicker than the others.

I applied for Osceola for the day program, my friend applied the same time as me and she chose both campus and also have not heard anything back. One thing was I not aware of until an advisor cleared it up, was although in fall the nursing traditional program accepts 120, it really means they are accepting 80 at west and 40 at Osceola. I found this out after I applied, If I had known I would have applied for both campus. But like you said, the options we choose when we apply might make a difference in which semester we get accepted for. After speaking with an advisor, it seems as if spring might be it for me not fall.

Where do u look to see this?

Please let us know when anybody get the email.

Hello everyone! I am currently in the nursing program. Let me give you some advice that I wished was given to me while you are waiting to get in.

Get the dosage book now and start practicing. This will not be taught at all, and you need to have a firm grasp on dosage calculations as well as all of the abbreviations. There are review classes put on by the student nurses but not by faculty. This is essential and I can't stress it enough. Once you get into the program, it will feel like you are drinking from a fire hydrant. Not trying to scare you, but if someone had told me this while I was waiting, I would've gotten started on it asap so I didn't have to mess with it while trying to get through the other info we have.

Book: Dimensional Analysis at the West Campus bookstore. Doesn't matter what edition it's the same material. You have to show your work on the tests and this method is really very simple and doable.

Good luck to you all!!

Hello ! Thanks for the heads up. Does the book have to be from the bookstore ? Would we be able to find it online through another website for cheaper lol

I would imagine you could get it anywhere. If you go to the bookstore and take a look at it then search elsewhere you might be better off. Or you can look at it online if the West campus bookstore is too far. Good luck!
